Rate: 22 Flag

photo

S - Sudden sizzling sensuality surrounds.

A - Acceleration of air, acceptance; alive.  Ahhh...

N - Never normal, nearly needing; napping.

C - Contagious cacophony of children; cuddling cats.

T - Tremulous touch, teaching, tantalizing treats.

U - Unleashed, unshakable, universally in unison.  Us.

A - Always angelic attributes of asking and answering.

R - Ravishing, reassuring, rushing of rain.

Y - Yellow, youth; yesterdays zearnings.  Yielding to Yes.

Places of pure sanctuary for me:

photo The Living Room

photo Where I sit on the deck to find a sliver of sun.

photo Mountain Sanctuary

photo My Grand Babies

photo Grand Kitty and pal

photo Grandson's Sanctuary Tree  (and enormous boulder behind)

NOTE:  Top Photo of youngest daughter consoling her newest addition, "Bru" (Bruiser), rescued from an animal shelter recently burned down, leaving him with burns and lung damage.

Together, they found "Sanctuary."

The feeling of "sanctuary" came over me like soothing waters, just writing this. It brought me balance. Thank you, Joan H.
This is so creative and touching! The pictures tell so very much! Your use of the word "sanctuary" is great!

I enjoyed reading and taking in the views.

Thank you!!
Okay. It is settled. I now know where I am going on my summer vacation. Should I bring my own toothpaste, Cathy? What a lovely life and gorgeous family you have, my friend! I'm jealous...in the nicest way possible!
This is so lovely. The grand babies alone would be enough to fill my soul. Also, thank you for reading mine. The open call was Rita's brilliant idea, however. _r
so very nice... i love your living room view!
I've been loving this open call . . . it is refreshing as a cool summer breeze on a hot day . . .
"Yielding to yes!" That's something I need to remember! Thanks for sharing these thoughtful images and ideas.
Great photos, Cathy.
You are a blessed woman. Family, Critters, Sanctuary, and love. What a combo! R-
Joan H. has just informed me that this open call was initiated by Rita! Oh, Rita! So sorry! I guess Joan's was the first one I saw. Mea Culpa!
Lovely pictures and wonderful words. Thanks for sharing. R
Kathy..this is the most beautiful post..so clever and your family is wonderful. AND you can see the mountains..wow. LOVELY
I love your Grandson's sanctuary Cathy, lovely photo essay.
PS just saw Joan H and your response, no worries, glad you participated, the list of others can be found at comfortcafe blog.
Oh that sliver of sun on the deck! They are all beautiful
wonderful pictures, Cathy! Can grandson's smile be any wider?!
Just loved every bit of this. Love that picture of grandbabies and the view from the living room...so many memories! I'm not doing a post on sanctuaries, but if I did, one of my sanctuaries would be YOU...you are such a safe harbor from many a storm.
OK, catching up with comments and got something in my eye! My sister, Mary, wrote something I wasn't expecting, down yander and it was way over the top, sweet and loving. I am going to have to give her a major squishy hug for this, among other things! xo

In the words of Ellen Degeneres, "Right back at cha!"

Thanks so much for coming by my sanctuary today! You all made my day...and a half! xo
Positively delicious.
Wow! What spectacular scenery, but it looks so familiar, wait!
$440.00??? If you were doing 70mph on any road within 30m of that view they'd be scraping you off the bottom of the mountain!
(R)ated for knowin' a good thing when she sees it, and not taking official crap lying down.
Nice companions there in your sanctuary, Cathy.
Nicely done, Cathy, and I love the photos, too.
I loved this! Beautiful photos of your gorgeous family and special places in your heart, Cathy. Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful photos all, Cathy, and lovely sentiments that accompany them. I love your deck :)
You do have some nice sanctuaries both places and people. You are lucky.
"How sweet it is."

Tranquility, innocence and beauty. Hard to beat. Lovely, Cathy.
As I read this post I sit in my own sanctuary, drinking my morning coffee and listening to the rain. Thank you for posting something so simple and lovely.
Saturday morning and back in our mountain sanctuary. Very emotional yesterday upon returning with no furry creature by our side but woke up happier and refreshed today.

Reading these wonderful, comforting comments with my morning coffee is such a tonic and a welcome ritual to set the right tone for the day.
