Breakneck Speed

Rate: 23 Flag

images-3

knife, gun, pills, balcony, suffocation, jump, run, stop, hit,

split second.

which way to run or not to run at all.

stop, start, hesitate, return to position, aim, shoot,

never stall.

have a nice meal, don't hold back,

pick any stranger to get in the sack.

don't look back.

get it while the gettin's good.

do it.  you knew it.

I'd do it and do it again,

before it's too late.

never look back at Heaven's gate.

got one chance, until it's done.

the messier the better;

in the name of fun.

give it; take it.

plan it if you must.

the doing is the ultimate thrill,

in this we trust.

cram it,  jam it,  force it till it breaks.

give it your all,  for heaven's sakes.

there is no heaven if there can be no hell.

buying religion can seem so swell.

an honest millionaire will never tell.

it's easy as that;

a tit for a tat.

grab your ak47;

a rata tat tat.

mice in the rafters,

butter in the fridge,

a few more seconds

might equal a smidge.

what do we care

how we do it in the end.

when all we do is manage

just to pretend.

so shout it from the roof tops,

pull up your boot straps

where they ought to be;

give it to me straight.

it's just you and me.

Pushed a button; pressed some keys; out it came with breakneck speed. Bedtime, flash poetry and Chardonnay.
I wish I could push buttons like this. I loved it, smiled all the way through, and that photo, wow~!
To be or not to be
When both are required
But neither are allowed
Is the answer
Not the question.
I love your flash! That is sometimes the best way to write!
yes it is just you and me and up to us to get out the message of the world.. I am late.. My computer is NOT happy this morning.:)
HUGGGGGGGG
Love the pace, the rhythmn, the imagery. One should always have butter in the fridge.
Thanks to all for coming by this random post of flashing, flushing thoughts of uncertain connectivity.
There were some very solid images in this.

Strong.
This is my kind of poetry, Cathy.
You speak for us all. Well done.
I love the tempo and photo -R-
Nick, Trilogy, Christine - Thanks so much for your kind comments and support! Cheers!
It is beautiful and a little creepy.
Bill! Love your honesty! Brutal but yes!
Breakneck speed this. Pulls the reader along. Very nice.
Rated.
Scylla - Appreciate the feedback. Thx!
Whoa....Powerful and fast pact paced. I liked it.
blufeather - Thank you, kindly.
I push buttons too, and uh, I may have started a couple of wars!! ~shrug~ :D

LOVED IT!!! RATED!
You're a poet who genuinely does get far w speed. I really appreciate this. I can only do this kind of spee-composition when writing satire. I wish I could in poetry.

Rated.
my mind never goes this fast. Impressive.
Tink - You make me giggle out loud every time I read your comments. That makes me happy! Thx!

Catherine - Thanks much!

Jon - Thanks very much for your great comment. And you, sir, do just fine with your various styles of writing and commentary. Big fan of yours!

Mimetalker - Thanks! Often mine is spewing out the words and thoughts faster than I can capture them but then there are the long periods of writer's block in between. "Fits and starts."
I liked this. It moved fast like a slide show gone crazy.
Wow! That is the baby of a grand inspiration. Fast, subtle, sweet, and magnificently written; such a slick rhythm. RRR
Sheila - Love your slide show comparison! Thanks!

Thoth - Wow, thanks so much! It was a fun write, to be sure!
Well, aren't you quite the rapper, Missy! Actually more beat, than rap, tho to my ear, the two have something in common. As for pulling yourself up by your bootstraps, as my MIL likes to say, sometimes you don't have any boots.
Tom - ...but you know I would have me some sassy boots! And I do!
Thanks for coming by and tapping to the beat!
Must have been one incredible harvest and year for Chardonnay. But I don't think it could ever be good enough to have produced this cavalcade of fun, messiness, Ak47 trigger happy taking a stranger to bed with you while you're at it experience. Man it never did that for me and I enjoyed rather a lot of quite good Chardonnay. It was probably laced with your carefree, joyous, unbridled no holds barred YOU! Such a peaceful picture as a background for the unexpected passion and contrast in your writing. It's like how the mountains suddenly pop out in relief when the afternoon sun slants just the right degree to suddenly unflatten their deeply cragged, experienced, knowing faces. Powerful and tasty stuff, Cathy. oxoxoxoxo
really enjoyed this...some of the rhythms were nicely dylanesque, i thought--rated
Joansie! Hope you are feeling better and so happy to see you back for a visit! Seriously, I was feeling exactly like the photo suggests, while my inner imp was typing away at breakneck speed! I love who you framed that...how well you know your silly big sis! xoxo
mistercomedy - thanks much! I have no doubt a little dylan channeled me some...such a favorite of mine; a musical and lyrical impact on my youthful history and energy. A seed that never stopped growing.
Whoa, Cathy! That was some Chardonnay!!!!

But I had fun too,
trying to keep up with the likes of you!

Yep, lots of fun, Cathy! Smiling here. : )
Little Kate - Almost scared ya, didn't I? Having Merlo this evening. We'll see what happens! Thanks for coming by for a silly ride on the Chardonnay slide!
This reminds me of something one would have heard in a Greenwich Village coffee house in the 60s and 70s. Cool.

Lezlie
Lezlie - Very cool of you to say that! Back in the day (late 60's), I sang folk music with a guitar playing partner in GV for a few months. Not a long gig but very good experience. ("Kat 'n Lou)! "Those were the days, my friend..." Thanks!
whew ...
Breakneck speed is right. BB.
