This is our dog, Kona. Last summer she had a back injury and we were told she had a 30%chance of ever walking again.

She's doing better than anyone expected...

...and she daily reminds me to lighten up and have fun.

Go play!

Yes, yes, yes. I watched with joy yesterday morning watching our 7 month old Puppy Max play in the freshly fallen snow. Oh he just rubbed himself in the white stuff, rolling around everywhere. Brought back memories of making snow angels, snowmen and snow caves. Love dogs who teach us daily what's really important in life. Thanks for sharing.
Love the dog, hate the snow. Will it ever be July again?
R
Cindy: Isn't she? We're so glad she's okay...
Mary: Dogs are great, good for the soul, aren't they? Glad you came by...
Out on a limb: I hear you! Sorry, but it's our first big snow here, we're still having fun. : )
Adorable. Wonderful pictures. I know we had enough snow, but it is rather refreshing to see photos Kona playing carefreely in it.
♥R
jali: I am so much of a cat person! This sweet rescue dog my Oldest son gave me has been a surprise and a delight. Thanks for taking a peek. : )
Fusun: I realize there's been so much snow everywhere...just not so much here until now. Thanks for coming by anyway!
Well, I'm glad *someone* is enjoying winter.
Actually, she made me smile. It reminds me not to postpone joy until spring...~r
Joan: That *someone* reminds so often not to forget to be happy...today.
Just thought I'd share. : )
Happy, happy. Joy, joy. Kona rules!
In spite of all the mess in the world, we are reminded daily, if we open our eyes, of the wonder around us. Nice post, glad your dog is doing well too.
Stacy: She does rule! Around here anyway... : )
Bonnie: It's the first big snow our area has had....your Dad's area gets much more than we do usually, if I'm remembering correctly where your Dad is...we have 8" or so on the ground.
Kona reminded me to play in it, rather than avoid it.
Great pics! I'm tired of the cold though. We don't have much snow where I am in Oregon, just frozen slush. What kind of a dog is Kona? I'm a big fan of rescue mutts.
Cool Dog! Your dog really enjoys the snow. Mine just likes to lie by the fire.
Thanks, Sheila, we are glad she's okay too. A valuable member of the family, she is. Thank goodness something reminds us, eh?
froggy: Usually the snow stays up on the mountains, but it's bloody cold this week. Kids and the dog have encouraged more fun...thanks for coming by. : )
trilogy: Just a little lighthearted Saturday...I was ready after dredging up my London memories, glad to see you. : )
Ira: We can't believe how much she loves it! She's a bit whackadoodle, that one, part of why we adore her. : )
@ froggy: Deciding what kind of dog she is has been subject of endless debate. One day we'll get her DNA done....or just keep guessing. : )
After four years of assessing personality and traits: part hound, heeler, Jack Russell terrier....daschund....German Shepard. Corgi. Basset and Chihuahua.....It keeps changing, part of the fun. : )
(She's very high-strung, clever, and howls, not barks.)
Oh. My. Gosh. In the comments section of my post on favorite things, you mentioned your dog. I could understand the love for a pet...but to come here and see such joy and adorableness...I understand even more. I love, too, that her story can give so many of us given bad odds, a lot of hope. May she continue to frolic and have fun and bring joy to you for many, many years to come - and thanks for sharing some of that joy with us today!
How precious! Love these photos so much! Love that our animals (and grand kids, in my case), constantly remind us of the natural wonders of leaping for joy. Your Kona has mastered this and then some. So happy he made it through his injury with "flying colors!"
I totally understand. We have (we think) a lab/border collie. But he might be a lab/pointer. Or a lab/aussie shepherd. Or something. Kona is very cute, whatever her heritage!
YAAY! what an uplifting post.. thanks for this big smile tonight.
Thanks, Alysa! We do think she's the cutest... : )
As for her back, she still has some minor issues, but her joy of life brought her through, I think. Yay!
Thanks, Cathy! Grandkids sound like great way to keep in the moment and enjoy the laughter...I love kids. : )
hugs, me, rita: Glad to share our source of many light moments ! just what a weekend needs...
Nothing quite like a happy dog to make snow seem...OK.
So very sweet. I had snow but it is so rare my dogs begged to get inside!
This [almost] makes me want to go out and play in the snow. A great reminder to lighten up!
I just got back from playing in the snow!! Great pictures~Rated
Awwww...how cute! Happy Saturday to you and Kona! xox
She is adorable, I'd do the same but the odds are that even under 63 layers of the latest fiber technology I'll wind up growling. I am willing to be the odds medically. I'm happy for you and Kona.
Matt: A dog definitely helps with that...or at least you're laughing enough to forget the cold!
Thanks, Kate : )
Buffy: That's what any sensible dog would do!! : )
mypsyche: 'Almost' is a big word, isn't it?? : )
Susie: I have a feeling you say that a lot! Thanks for coming by...
Thanks, Robin! : )
l'heure: I hear you, I'm good for a few minutes out there...but I do want to learn snowboarding... next winter! : )
so cute
Sorry this is late, I just got home.

I am cured of a long time illness of disenchantment...bless her little heart!
Leepin': She can! I wish I could capture some of her other flights...
Hey Linda, Thanks : ) Welcome home...
Gary: That's exactly the gift this dog has brought...glad you enjoyed!
It is like a beautiful miracle!
Pure joy! Glad she recovered.
I love when odds are beaten! Your dog is adorable.
She is sooooo ADORABLE!!!!
Go Kona! You're a great teacher for all of us! Don't listen to everything you're told about your future, and have fun!
Well, it's not Saturday anymore, but Kona is still adorable now on Sunday! Your pictures are really good, too, JT.

Lezlie
What a sweet face! It's great to see her having so much fun.
Dogs have remarkable powers of recovery and how to have fun.
Great pictures, like frames in a movie.

I love your dog! She is having such a good time, such a big smile in every photo. It is a good moral to the story, have some fun. big hug!
What a beautiful dog. You can see it in here eyes and in here nice expressive romp in the snow. Oh these pictures have no cold in them at all. I hope she recovers and can make your days fun and joyfull. Thanks for sharing.
I love the way these photos work in a sequence. And happy to hear she's going strong.
Aww - what a cutie! You're absolutely right - time to lighten up and have fun! :-)
I'm so glad she has recovered so well, JT.
I have been wanting a dog for so long and you have now given me a serious case of dog envy. She's beautiful!!
