The Good Men Project Magazine

Rate: 1 Flag

Answering the question, "What does it mean to be a good man in the 21st century?" has intrigued me since I began reading The Good Men Project. It didn't take long to engage me in the conversation: first as a writer, then as an editor. You might say I'm invested in answering the question for myself.

I wrote my first feature for the GMP in response to a story by an angry, violent man who didn't seem to recognize that his behavior was abusive. I was so angry, I put on a voice for this one that scared my husband. I haven't used it again. I still get angry, but I try to not sound like the bullies.
My most popular post on the GMP was "Grew Up as Girls, Married as Men," in which I explain how Kevin and I came to be married, and how we explain our transitions, identity, and relationship.
When I wrote about "The Kids Are All Right," I concentrated on the too cool for school sperm donor dad, and how he fails.
For someone who hasn't had cable TV in a decade, I write about media a lot.
I write about sex and relationships.
