I got an email a little while ago from the (ahem -we'll leave our financial differences aside for the moment) good people of Bank of America saying that I've been given a corral assignment for the Shamrock Shuffle! This is a huge 8K they run in Chicago every year and I've never been given a placement in a race other than "the waaaaay back." No. No. A little further back. Yeah behind the clean-up crew. Perfect. So when I got this email I was floored. I get a placement? Ahead of other runners? Whoa.
Check it out:
"Congratulations! Your past performance in the 2007-2009 Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle 8K and/or 2008-2009 Bank of America Chicago Marathon qualifies you for Seeded Start Corral C (Wave 1) at the 2010 Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle 8K on March 21."
It's totally not based on my past Shuffle performance. I think they give a seeding to all marathon runners who don't die on the course. ;-) Haven't signed up yet. My sister is running it this year. I think. We'll see. Verrrry interesting.
