Just south of South St. Petersberg, Florida is a small island called Tierra Verde. It was once owned by the Big Bandleader Guy Lombardo who used it as a party getaway. In the 30's and 40s you had to get there by boat but now there is a spiffy drawbridge that connects the mainland and Tierra Verde.
Tierra Verde is a beautiful place dotted with condos and expensive homes. One of those homes is referred to by the locals as the Pepto Bismol house because its color is the colors of, well... Pepto Bismol. The neighbors hated it and so they asked the owner to please repaint the house. He refused. So the neighbors got creative and said they would have it painted for him at no charge. Again he refused. So now, the island association, which all homeowners have to join, passed an edict saying that henceforth in the future, no home would be allowed to be painted the color of Pepto Bismol.
And so, without further ado, here is the Pepto Bismol House.
