Gladstone Parks

Gladstone Parks In HDR No not Gladstone parks in Missouri! How about a few photos of parks in Gladstone, Oregon?

No surprise that the parks in Gladstone are cool and well maintained. They work at it! My favorites are the Ames and Cross Parks, which really are one and the same, and parallel the Clackamas River.

The only way to tell them apart is one has a white border fence, and the other has a red stained border fence. Well, signs, too! Ames Park is the newer of the two. Both are very narrow parks but present a very nice walk along the river.

For the most part both parks are in the shade during the summer, so it's a cool place to take the pet for a stroll on a hot summer day or, for that matter, any day.

The two bridges shown below go across the Clackamas River to Oregon City and lead to yet another cool park. The first is a pedestrian bridge being repaired, and the other an old trolley bridge that is permanently closed for years.

The third park shown here is the Patterson Park which is about four or five blocks from the two above and away from the river. It's more orientated toward children and has a very nice playground.

In Gladstone City Proper (the old sections), all the streets are named after the streets in Boston's Back Bay..names like..Arlington, Berkeley, Clarendon, and so on in alphabetical order.
All the photos here were taken with a Nikon Point and Shoot camera and then converted to High Dynamic Range Photography (HDR). I use Photomatix software to convert to HDR and then Photoshop Elements to further process.
