Believing

Rate: 4 Flag

All inventions come from the unknown. All the great artists, writers, musicians and celebrities once were unknown and ignored.  The only way anything ever gets created or anyone changes the world is by their believing in the unseen, and the unknown.

Having faith to keep going, keep believing, and taking that next step. Living with not knowing how you will pay the rent, how you will get published, how your music, or  art will be received.

You live with that doubt, that pressure anyway, despite what everyone says and thinks. You keep going. You keep writing even when everyone says you should go get "a real job", you keep painting, and making music living on faith, not being able to answer those horrible  How questions. How will you pay the rent? How will you survive? You don't know, you just know you will.

Until that sweet, sweet day when your book is finally published, your art work sells, your song gets accepted or played on the radio, And all becomes clear, what you've known all along that you were meant to shine, your words, your music, your art, declared magnificient.

Yes, success is amazing and well earned for it is our reward for believing in miracles.

We probably all need this reminder at one time or another, thanks!
Thank you for your comment. Yes, we all need a reminder now and then especially on those dark days when we feel like giving up.
I am the manifestation of the exact opposite of this and wish I weren't. Sometimes I think it takes a naivety to believe, for example, that one could get published (or become a successful singer or artist) among the plethora of gigantic talent out there. This realism, for lack of a better word, makes people not do the work, then, because it feels futile. And then, of course, they can't possibly succeed now can they? I wish I had your optimism because I think it makes all the difference.
Well, what do you have to lose by being an optimist? If you don't try, you never have a chance at all. If you do try, at least you have a small chance of succeeding. And if you read the biographies or autobiographies of famous authors, or artists or musicians, most of them failed repeatedly until finally, they made it. It is difficult, but you lose nothing in believing and never giving up.
Thank you for reminding me...I believe in miracles, but sometimes I forget. You say it eloquently.
