no insurance against this rape, this theft

no. no, there is not. none at all.

(in fact, in some cases theses things make one uninsurable.)
Sad and lovely and, well, sad. I can relate. Sadly.
Beautifully said truth. Thanks.
Bravo Kathy! So clear and so true!
Very poignant and heartfelt. I liked this a lot.

This shows a side of life I hate. It shows it all to well. Well done!
And yet this scenario plays on and on with no end in sight. Rarely a day goes by that there isn't an arrest in our local paper about this. How many go on unreported? Tragic. Insane. Sickening.
Clearly defined within meter and feet. ~R~
You can only insure the financial consequences of a catastrophe. And of course, you can't insure against things that break your heart. Its a shame, because I want insurance. I want to pay my premiums and be safe. Too bad it doesn't work that way.
There are some things on which no value can be set. How do you value a human life, a human heart, a human spirit?
You said it very well!
If you haven't seen it already, go see the recently released film 'Precious.'
So sad. Grand writing.

Thanks to those of you who stopped by to appreciate this poem and the difficult topic it tackled. Chuck, a special thanks for noticing its structure. To all of you, group hug.
