it wasn't long, the time that was

"But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart." ~ Luke 2:19

blursun

it wasn't long, the time that was

the breeze that came

among the seasons

how it came to be you

no one knew

but then you came

and broke the door

a forward glance

with more than just a touch before

it threw the light of reason

where it lay bruised

they will come now

they will take you

they will hold you

they will make you pay

it wasn't long, the time that was

the buzz that came

and rendered reason

how it came to be you

no one knew

and now it's lying on the floor

much different than it was before

a cold and bloody chance

that time outgrew

heaven come now

seasons take me

life enfold me

dance, defend the day

These words speak well to the promise that came to be. You are a very talented young lady.
Lovely, Kathy. Thanks for sharing it.
So lovely, Kathy...xox
lovely. thank you for posting!
who knew you could do this too?
Kathy, you do so many things, so well. I love this title. Reminds me a bit of S &G "time it was, oh what a time it was, a time of innocence, a time of confidences" ..
"life enfold me / dance, defend the day" . . . lovely.
beautiful writing and photo

Kathy,
This is a masterful performance of rhythm and resonance. But did time really outgrow the bloody chance? I'm as confused as reason and faith. Nevertheless, I extend my hand. Shall we dance?
Charlie, in this case, yes. It did.
Kathy, I'm glad. And I'm picturing Zorba mid-twirl. :-)
Very pretty. It sounds like an ancient hymn.
Very lovely.

I especially love this:

it wasn't long, the time that was/the buzz that came/and rendered reason/how it came to be you/no one knew
