These are Some Things in my Neighborhood

Rate: 8 Flag

As I'm out strolling around the neighborhood, I very often come across things that just NEED to be photographed.  Here is a small selection of them for your amusement.

I would like to know how "special" these "facials" are and if that's really legal around here.

Warning to all fish:  The sidewalk is not going to be a successful run.

Anyone who lives in NYC has probably seen this really cool truck around.  I can't remember the name of the company but he's an ironworker and those are all sculptures of workers sitting on a beam.  I think it might be from this photo .    I caught the truck in my neighborhood one day and the snow on their backs was just so poetic.

This was posted in the front door of a local business below the signed photo of  George and Laura.  I actually copied this photo, corrected the typos, added a few editorial comments, and then decided it wasn't going to help anything to give it to him.   Please tell me I am a bigger person for it.

So, any of you working to clothe the movie or theater industry, you can pay a buck to relieve yourself here.

Or, if you can hold it, you can walk a few blocks and use the bathroom here.  The owners of this business are two of the kindest people I know and I see that love for humanity reflected back at them every day by their customers.

A little piece of my corner of NYC.
Nice! I like the sign in that very last picture. I hate looking for bathrooms in any cities.
I love it, particularly the costumers sign. I love to discover those things. I found one here:

icemilkcoffee - the man who owns the shop said he did that specifically because he was once forced to buy something BEFORE an establishment would let him use their bathroom even though he was in pain.

pf - I absolutely love that sign! Accidental brilliance. I too, possess the maddening ability to pick out a misspelled word from an entire manage to add it above. Completely forgot about it until now.
What a neat glimpse of your neighborhood! I think I'd like to meet the friendly bathroom people.
ok pf - please feel free to laugh out loud at my failure to proofread that last comment! the missing words between "entire" and "manage" are "page. I'll see if I can" But now I can't find the photo! It was of a furniture store in the neighborhood with several neon signs advertising their "Dinning Room" sets.
Lisa - it's a fantastic little organic store that exists not as a means to a profit margin but a service to the community. They are truly in it to make the world a better place.
I have a particular hatred for the inability to distinguish between the possessive and the plural. And it seems that this apostrophe error is increasing in frequency. Ugh!

your so kind to stop by to look at my photo's!

yeah, bugs me too.
Excellent photos --- I like the last one as well. There's some kind of movement for free bathroom access in NYC or something? (Can you tell how country I am?).
