Sharing the Pretty on my Plate

Rate: 3 Flag

This is just about the silliest thing to post but I wanted to share.  I'm making dinner now and it includes beans which have been cooking in the oven all day in a McCoy bean pot (the way mom makes 'em) and my favorite cole slaw.  I like to make it this way because it's got more anthocyanins and I think it's so pretty.  If only I had some fish just caught by my dad, this would be a summer meal back home.  Maybe add a few sliced heirloom tomatoes from the garden and you've got a meal that only cost as much as the time it took to grow and the love it took to prepare.

Ingredients are in the tags. There is and never will be any sugar in my slaw.
lovely plate. Mine had oven beef roast with veggies and homemade bread.
i like the pic of the slaw.
No, no sugar in the slaw. It's not right to sugar the slaw.
Ooh suzy, I think I will make bread tomorrow. Been craving a hot slice of bread with melty butter. Yum.

Scruffus, thank you! I just can't understand a sweet slaw. Like the crap they give you in a paper thimble in diners. That's the ditzy blonde girl of slaws. Mine is more of a Rosie the Riveter.
