how could I be late again?

Rate: 5 Flag

I am anxious, paranoid.  My body stiffens with dread. Doing something bad that I should not be doing again -- I have apologized to my coworkers. Will this get me in trouble? WHY was I late again? I have to get a grip!

Then I wake up. And a huge relief comes. I have not worked there for 5 years. None of this happened, thank God!

Someone said that we are just characters in God's dream. Why not? I just dreamed up a whole world that was totally "real" while I was in it. Do we share in the dream when we are born?

nothing is solid... just energy moving around... things are not what they seem

Ohmigosh, Kathy - I hate those dreams! I think there is a David Byrne song about how "we all have the same dreams... on different days of the week". Like your observations about us being just energy - I think someone's been siphoning mine off lately;)
I love that! We all have the same dreams .... It's perfect!
If you hated your previous job, then I would have to say it's a symptom of PTSD.....;-D That happened to me once or twice after I left a job that I despised.....it was difficult to shake the experience. Good post!
I think it was just a general anxiety dream. I get them rarely.
I both loved and despised the job at different times over a long period. Luckily, I left of my own choosing and on a very high note.
Man I hate dreams like that.

You ought to expand on that third 'graph. The idea is fascinating, and I'd like to see more.

Boanerges1 Thanks so much for the suggestion. I'll work on it. I am also brewing up another post at present. Do you let them percolate over sometimes several days untill they develop just right like I do?
The Responsibility dream comes out of your anxiety, but the cool thing about dreams is as you say here, how very full featured and real they seem. Some progress has been made isolating the brain chemical that apparently accompanies events like birth, REM sleep, dying, and quickening in the womb. It has amnesiac side effects.

Amazing that the brain comes equipped with its own powerful hallucinogens.
I did not know that Dave! Very fascinating--
