From time to time I have tuned in to and enjoyed The Ed Show with Ed Schultz. I don’t think I will any longer.
It appears he said this on the radio. But that doesn't matter. It matters to me that he said it. And yes, I know that Rush deliberately says things like this just to draw an audience. I find that kind of talk completely inappropriate and I refuse to condone it. It’s indeed questionable whether Democracy is functioning very well right now, in the sense of producing great results. Nonetheless, at the point we think it’s okay to cheat, it’s Game Over. I’m not there yet.
If one needs reasons not to vote for Scott Brown, here they are:
Here, as mentioned by Joan Walsh on Big Salon a couple days ago, is footage of Scott Brown during 2008 making gratuitous and inappropriate accusations about Obama’s birth:
There's a more recent report at Think Progress documenting Scott Brown foolishly denying having said the above.
Boston.com (a.k.a. The Boston Globe) offers an analysis that seeks to untangle questions about Brown. It's a useful read.
And, for me, this is enough reason not to vote for him right here:

As for cheating, I think that's become an American standard at this point.
Thank you so much for posting this. It should never matter which side of the fence demonstrates stupidity or a lack of ethics. It reveals a lack of integrity if we think it okay for our team to cheat or to boast about it.
The Evangelical world could have unanimously condemned the statements of Pat Robertson. They did not. Democrats and Progressives who respond with similar silence in regard to outrageous statements made by "their" journalists are guilty in the same way.
Thanks for a needed post.
Rated and appreciated.

Oh yes. You can get an "AMEN!" from me on that one.
I guess we're heading back to "the ends justify the means" again. What the hell is wrong with these people, anyway?
If you're going to take the high road, you have to ACTUALLY TAKE THE HIGH ROAD.

Rick, plenty-o-stuff is standard today that one needs to stand up to.
Susanne, I can put up with oafishness. The Constitution means to protect such. I draw the line at appearing to condone the unethical.
Dennis, that's it exactly. I made a note to do a piece directly on that issue of silence where it's not due. Thanks for the idea.
John, what you say is true. But of course there's no point in winning if you've sacrificed your soul in the process. I'll be glued to the TV tonight...
Bill, I just don't get it. I guess talk show hosts are just in a nuclear arms race to say the stupidest and most outrageous thing, and perhaps it's asking a lot for them to say ethical outlandish things. But I'm still gonna try. Thanks for stopping in and for adding your support.
I am grateful that those of you with stronger stomachs than mine are on the job and calling these idiots out
As far as I'm concerned, it's an open question whether democracy (yeah, yeah, I know, rightwingnuts, it's a republic) can survive the Politics of Division begun under Lee Atwater and honed to a black (forgive me people of color) art by Karl Rove.
