Azalea explosion

Rate: 8 Flag

As I mentioned in last Sunday's Easter post, we've had a wealth of botanical color of late. These were all taken in our yard, from the bushes just outside the door.

As brilliant as they look here, this pales compared to their vividness in person.

Beautiful. I have red and pink azaleas in my yard with white and pink Dogwoods. They are just coming out!
Mobile has a concerted affair with azaleas – its nickname is the Azalea City, after all – and there is a real spectrum on display now. It's easily the time of year when this city looks its best.
your yard is better than my yard right now!
soooo beautiful. and i am sure they smell great, too. I love them. It's just a wee bit too cold to get them to grow in Michigan. You need a corner that's blocked from the wind and gets lots of sunlight. I've tried -- unsuccessfully.
Lovely, Kevin!! (Gotta Love anything called, "Azalea Explosion!")
What a explosion of colour.
Just beautiful, the colors, how healthy they look, I wish I had some azaleas!
I'm partial to the deciduous azaleas. The brilliance of the Exburys and the subdued shades of the Mollis varieties are something to behold. The naked branches in winter against a weathered board fence is a marvel. Too cold here yet for the buds to open. Soon though.......
