William Shatner's New Talk Show

Rate: 4 Flag
William Shatner's new show, Aftermath (on the Biography Channel), is already making headlines.  Apparently, during an interview on Shatner's program, Lee Boyd Malvo, one of the two convicted D.C. Snipers, "confessed" that there were other co-conspirators in the sensational shooting spree who are still unapprehended.

Shatner has proven to be an excellent interviewer.  His previous talk show, Raw Nerve, featured quirky and insightful conversations with a number of fascinating guests, including rocker Gene Simmons, porn star Jenna Jameson, actors Tony Danza and Scott Baio, fellow Star Trek veteran Leonard Nimoy, consevative talk radio firebrand Rush Limbaugh, and many others.

Aftermath looks to be another intriguing endeavor as Shatner looks at "where are they now" figures like Subway Vigilante Bernard Goetz and former soldier Jessica Lynch who was wounded and captured in Iraq.  The show is described as "exclusive interviews with the key players behind the most notorious breaking news stories of the past."

Shatner continues to be a busy man -- starring in the eagerly awaited sitcom $#*! My Dad Says and directing the documentary The Captains that includes interviews with other stars from Star Trek series: Patrick Stewart, Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew, and Scott Bakula.

Aftermath is just one more example showcasing William Shatner as one of the greatest interviewers of our time.

I don't know about being a great interviewer (I'll have to watch his show to be able to judge that), but he definitely has the staying power to be in front of the camera.

And to think, he was living out of a trailer and about to give up acting when he asked to audition for Star Trek.
Just as I was getting used to him as a beat poet, working over Sarah Palin's gems.
I knew nothing about this, but now I have to check it out. Anything having to do with Shatner is fascinating.
I'm with Cranky on this... anything Shatner does is worth checking out (Star Trek VI is the exception to that rule)
Thanks again, Nick. I just checked out the preview on the channel's website and added it to my DVR schedule.
Thank you for not writing that Shatner's talk show "boldly goes where ...." I'll have to check it out.
Thank you for the heads up, Nick. Shatner's talent is far-reaching. So, I am not surprised.
Shatner is a man of many talents...one of the best being the ability to make fun of himself. I hope he stays around for a long time. Long live Captain Kirk.

Funny if Shat's legacy will be as a conduit to let others shine in interviews, after all those years of carefully building a bombastic persona ...
This should shed more light on it

Gee, isn't he doing that new show in the fall, "Sh#$# My Dad Says?"

Guess he multi-tasks well. I loved his interview with Jason Alexander when Jason told him about doing "him" for his first acting work.
