When Shows I Watch Get Cancelled

Rate: 3 Flag
Two television shows that I've been watching this season have received the ax -- The Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue.  It's always disappointing when you invest time in a TV program only to have the rug pulled out from under you when the network decides to pull the plug because the ratings are too low.

Even a hit series, such as Revolution, is not immune to the fickle finger of the executives who program the schedule -- the popular new show is going on hiatus for a few months.  Will that hurt the serialized science fiction drama's viewership?

What are your favorite shows that bit the dust too soon?

My problem is that I miss the boat. I missed "Seinfeld" and "Friends." only to really get into them them within the last few years. I only recently discovered "House." It is a GREAT series! So funny and intelligent! What was I doing that caused me to miss what everyone else seems to have watched? Probably watching History, Discovery and similar networks.

I imagine one of he greatest jump-the-gun cancellations was of the original "Star Trek." The suits who did that were later going, "Who knew?"
I've never really gotten into a show that got nixed, but I like shows like the new Battlestar Galactica, Lost, etc that have a planned start and end.

The British version of The Office was perfect. The US version is just dragging on. Too few people have too few original ideas.
Seriously! I am so tired of smart shows getting axed and stupid crap like Survivor and Tosh 2.0 just keep going. Remember that show with Richard Dreyfuss a few years back on Sundays. Excellent show, pulled because the 18- 25 year old males didn't watch it.
-Arrested Development: too groundbreaking and intelligent for mainstream America...tragic

-Freaks and Geeks: too much raw young talent for one show (Jason Segel, Seth Rogen, James Franco)
