Southern fried iconoclast and Atlanta native Kimberly Krautter is The Anti-Coulter. She blogs about the intersection of public communications and public policy with a side order of musings on pop culture. Known to have the swiftest soapbox in the South and for being staunchly anti-wing nut, Ms. Krautter believes, "Liberal is not a four-letter word, for that matter neither is Conservative, and solutions are found in the Sensible Center where people are eager to speak with each other instead of just being heard." She is currently authoring a major journalistic work titled "Foreclosure on the Fourth Estate: How spin-fluence and info-tainment killed the American newspaper." Sarah Palin - What a Schmuck

Rate: 6 Flag

Sarah Palin has announced her abdication of the Governorship of Alaska.  If I were a citizen of Alaska, and especially if I had voted for her, I'd be pissed off.

Who cares is she feels she has checked off her personal laundry list of things to do, there remains a long list of responsibilities still yet to be fulfilled as Governor. You don't quit just because you want to persue a new ambition. The job is bigger and more important than your own personal agenda.

She opened the speech today by saying she was so happy to have the chance to speak directly to the people of Alaska whom she is so honored to serve. Well, "service" is bigger than the person in the big chair. It's an honor that comes with a mission betowed on the person elected and you just don't drop it to pursue other goals.

Mike Huckabee didn't do that. Mitt Romney didn't do that. They kept their eyes on the ball for Arkansas and Massachusetts while keeping their eyes on the prize of the 2008 GOP nomination.

So fellow citizens and especially conservatives who are enamored with this flighty fowl from above the 48th paralell:  Don't be fooled. Sarah Palin so loves America that she was a 7-year member of a secessionist organization and she so loved Alaska that she dithches the job in favor of a book tour and an early bid for the GOP nomination in 2012.

She is so full of herself! She doesn't realize that the only ones who show up to her rallies are as dumb as she is.
I fully expect to see more about the Canadian pipeline scandal in the next few weeks.
I just heard that she is done with politics and if we are very lucky, politics will be done with her. What a self serving narcissistic clown.
There isn't enough money in politics for her. I think she has eyes on a job with Fox news or some other high dollar cable deal. She likes to skip those steps about earning a position. Thank God McCain went down in flames. Can you imagine?
I think the woman is a nightmare that you just can't wake up from.
The truly sad and sick thing about it is that she yet again proves how shrewd she is with dealing with the media. Everyone in the biz knows you don't make announcements on a Friday afternoon. It's known as "throwing it in the trash." Of course, something like this guarantees that she will DOMINATE the news for the entire holiday weekend. DON'T GET ME WRONG... she spoke of "Seward's Folly" and I can presage headlines "Sarah's Folly," and by all rights, this should be her death knell, but we live in strange times, and the GOP is desperate.
"DOWN!!! SET!!!..."

"2012 Red Right! 2012 Red Right! hut, hut..."

Point guard hoops audible.

Why, I've repeatedly used that one myself over at 24-Hour Fitness Sport during full-court pickup.
Kimberly, I love your use of 'abdication' for her resigning office. Governor Palin was a former beauty queen and she sure did answer a lot of media questions like some recent well-know Miss Beauty Queen contestants.

Let's hope her 15 minutes of fame are over!

She just flatlined on the E-Meter:

*Sigh* GMGaston, I fear the media circus has only just begun. And here we thought NOTHING could tamp down the volume on Michael Jackson -- I guess one good freak show is as good as another.
