GOP Chair Steele: The fundamentals of the economy - I mean health care system - are strong

G.O.P. Chairman Michael Steele

First ever Nobel Prize for Comedy
GOP chair Michael Steele appeared on Univision this morning. As usual, he made a gaffe. Two, actually. The first was claiming that America's health care system doesn't need reform. The second, saying that our healthcare system is the best in the country. Uh, I suppose so.
Jorge Ramos - Republican Senator Olympia Snowe has announced that she will vote for a healthcare reform bill. Are you disappointed, do you expect more Republicans to vote for it?
Michael Steele - I don't, if it's what we've seen produced so far in the House and in the Senate. I don't think we need a comprehensive overhaul of our healthcare system because our healthcare system, while it remains the best in the country and while it provides largely the services that people need and the quality of those services are very, very good, there are costs associated with this system that needs to be address more directly.

Michael Steele was also runner-up in the Nobel Prize for Redundancy Nobel Prize. He actually used this sentence, which makes Bobby Jindal look like a master orator. "I don't think we need a comprehensive overhaul of our healthcare system because our healthcare system, while it remains the best in the country and while it provides largely the services that people need and the quality of those services are very, very good, there are costs associated with this system that needs to be address more directly."
Huh? Our health care "remains the best in the country"? Honestly Michael, did you mean to say "the world?" That of course would have been a major lie, so did you catch yourself mid-sentence and change it to country? We only have one health care system for the country you clown, that's why we have to reform it. I don't know which clown school the G.O.P. find these Bozos at, but I hope they continue to "steele" their best students.
Congratulations Chairman Steele, you are the first ever unwitting winner of the Nobel Prize for comedy with that insanely bad sound bite above. If America weren't so stupid, I would say that you did the country a great service with your comments. Unfortunately, America is just stupid enough not to get the joke and the joke is on all of us.

Yeah Walt, Lee Greenwood for G.O.P. Chair!!!! The rednecks would love it!
Michael, as I continue to respectfully say, the G.O.P. are so obvious in their poor strategic moves. Palin was supposed to be the new Hillary. HOOONK Steele is supposed to be the right's answer to Obama. HOOONK!!!! We're stupid, collectively as a country, but not that stupid, yet.
Indeed Femme.
Thank you Nikki. I can't really take all the credit. Steele did most of the work.
Funny. (Not Steele, the piece) R
Come to think of it, it's kinda sad that Rush and Beck are the closest thing the GOP has to leadership.

Please, allow me to reconstruct that sentence so that it makes sense to the Average American...
"I don't think. We need a comprehensive overhaul of our healthcare system. Our healthcare system, while it remains the best in the country, is the only health care system in the country. While it provides the services that people need and the quality of those services are adequate if one resides in a third world country, We must improve the quality of care. There are costs associated with this system that need to be addressed."
MUCH better...
