I am here to complain about people who complain about people who complain on Open Salon. There is a fine art to complaining about complainers... You see, I sort of feel like the original complaintants have valid points when they complain. I know the numerous times I have voiced my opinion in the past (but trust me, never again) about bias on Open Salon it was hearfelt and well deserved.
Of course I can only speak for myself and I've always been completely comfortable in doing so. I can't speak for the hundreds of others who see through the thin veil of favoritism on here and write about the hurt they feel from being overlooked, but I can speak for myself and rather loudly. It's hilarious how obvious it is and people should have the right to complain if they feel so inclined.
But oh ye enter the complainers about the complainers. They have their elite condescension down to a fine art. They come in all sexes, shapes and sizes. They all know who they are and at this time the names will remain unspoken to protect their fragile egos. We, the complainers, we don't have as much of an ego. We do you say? Well I beg to differ because if we had large egos we would NEVER dare open ourselves up to criticism and truly express the truth.
In the past, the people who choose to complain about the people who complain have been spared being called out for the snobs they are. Well, it's time to change all of that tonight. It's time to lay the old cards on the table. You see, I've learned that people on the left can be just as snobbish as those on the right. I used to not believe that, but oh how I've learned differently. And the fence sitters who enjoy pecking away at both sides, well they are indeed the very worst. Take a fucking stand already.
So the next time you want to write a post with a title something to the effect of "Why Don't You Whining Assholes Quit Complaining About Not Getting EP's for Front Pages" just shove a big ass sock in that pie hole. You've been called out tonight and the problem is that it took someone so long to do so. Sure, you may be a published writer, a teacher (oh excuse me, professor) or maybe just a bitch or asshole who has nothing better to do. But I'm here now to say:

I just assumed that anyone who posts on OS exposes themselves to criticism - even those who may make covers and get EP's...EP's are such a small thing in the larger scheme of life especially with a real world, family and friends to embrace...

I'm not a teacher or a published writer, BTW. Just someone who got tired of all the jealousing and putting down of other writers who got EPs and covers through no "fault" of their own.

Exactly right Designanator, you, me and 100's others complained and we ALL collectively must be wrong of course because 5-10 pets decided to show how superior they are by putting us in our place. Note to them, I'm 45 years old with an MBA and a 20+ year career and I started writing poems and short stories at a very early age. I don't need the condescension. I try not to do it to others.
Jeanette, don't take it so seriously... Therein lies the problem.
I have always said one thing and it applies here. This is my original thought from back in the grunge days of "non-conformity".
-The biggest group of conformists in the world are non-conformists.
Nothing revelatory there, but true. It's en vogue to bust the ass of a complainer, but complaining is a right.
