The skies they were ashen and sober;
The leaves they were crisped and sere-
The leaves they were withering and sere;
It was night in the lonesome October
Of my most immemorial year;
It was hard by the dim lake of Auber,
In the misty mid region of Weir-
It was down by the dank tarn of Auber,
In the ghoul-haunted woodland of Weir.

Edgar Allen Poe

Beautiful. Thank you.
my pleasure, rita. thank you for stopping by.
thank you, Bob - Denver has had such a long and warm fall this year, that it was such a luxury to wander the gardens and see the fall colors coupled with the still blooming summer flowers. thanks for stopping by.
Beautiful...and the poem at the end suits perfectly.
Absolutely beautiful! R
This is a magnificent post. I've never been to Denver; thank you for the virtual tour of the Botanical Gardens.
Rated with appreciation.
What a lovely place, and what lovely photos!
You remind me that a "picture is worth a thousand words."
I love that you blog in photos-they are soothing to view.
An outing I needed to make. Thank you.
"thank you, Bob - Denver "
Haven't heard that in a long time.lol
BTW-I have a friend who lives in Denver.
I sent this to her.
Great - as always!
What a beautiful little break from my routine! Thank you.
Those are some cool, colorful pictures.
Colorado is among favorite getaways for pretty places to visit like the Denver Botanic Gardens...
Overwhelmingly beautiful images in a splendid presentation. (r)
You chose a poem with one of the most sonorously appropriate titles of all time.

Truly enjoyed the photographs. The Canon Digital Rebel EOS continues to deliver.
km, your artistic touch shines in this post. Your ability to compose and frame, the other choices you have to make in exposure, depth of field, aperture and speed all show that once again I get to say you should remove the word "hobbyist" from your bio. You are an artist. You are a photographer. Just lovely work.
So beautiful--both the place and your photographs. Thank you!
wow. so much beautiful photography here today: your denver garden shots, barry's birds, sheila's son's architecture. these are quite remarkable, km. thanks.
The skies are gray here today. This was just spectacular. Thanks.
Stunning photos! Your photos make me giddy about fall. Thank you for sharing such beauty.
Your photographs are always stunning.
beautiful pictures. coming across some of those statues while walking would make me want to take pictures too. or write a poem.
The pictures are gorgeous, and the choice of poem was perfect. I love the contrast of the evergreens with the orange and gold leaves. Those colors NEVER looked good when I used them all together with my crayons...
I was just thinking about visiting Albuquerque's Botanical Garden this morning. Now I know I should go!
Loved this. Such a beautiful garden beautifully photographed.
Thanks I've not been there yet but you whetted my whistle to see it.
thank you all for stopping by! what a way to start my Monday! :)
