Not sure what to put here. I'm not much of a joiner, but this might be cool. I see art all the time as I wander the streets. You might not think it's art, but you're also not the one with the camera and this swank blog.

What does soup have to do with Halloween? Or is Soup the artist?
Soup is one of the top ten street writers in Texas. His work is amazing and he did this mural in just hours. Laws is a crew in Texas, essentially an elite group of artists featuring notables Supher, Dmise, Weah, Dacks and others.
I wonder if Soup would do a mural in my sons' room...

Street writers do take commissions. A friend of mine had the front of his garage painted by one. It turned out awesome. It cost five hundred, but the writer spent ten hours on it and artists need to eat.
I just want people to breathe and enjoy Halloween and forget for maybe a little bit all this contentious political season. People and getting shot and property is being burned and for what? Please be peaceful and at peace. Hard with a war on and all, but each of us can do for ourselves and hope it spreads.
Love the hair! Pretty scary looking dude...Happy Halloween!!
Love it! Especially the scarf (?!). And that wall that it is painted on is really strange and unfinished looking, like a wall fragment. Anyways, I dig Halloween, so the more decorations the better. And I'm getting more interested in street art, my two teenagers gave me a picture book about graffitti artists for my birthday last year. So thanks for sharing these pics here on OS.
That is one talented dude. Thanks for the pic, really awesome.

Rated/appreciated/I'll be back again to see it.
Thank you for all the comments. I really think street writers, they hate being called graffiti - are artists. Yes, there are the beginners who only tag in one color and that can be wearing and ugly. But once they get up to three colors and start experimenting with perspective it really becomes an asset to a city scape. Then there is the political aspect of the art. The people have used street writing all through history to voice dissent. There is street writing in Pompeii.

Please every one be safe tonight, but also be free and able to enjoy a night before winter were adults can be anything they wish and the pressing cares can fall away. Appreciate for a while the beauty of the unexpected. The unexpected art like street art.
I will look for that book.

I've been traveling for a while and have always loved graffiti - even though the writers hate it being called graffiti. I see much stencil work that is political that I haven't even begun posting here.

Plus there are campaigns that are spreading world wide which are interesting to track and they go from city to city -- all stenciling.

But by far my favorite art is the work of writers like Supher and Soup. The colors and the wildness and the originality. And it is out there for everyone to enjoy for free. No museum admission.

I was lucky to see the graffiti of Pompeii. There are two that I particularly remember. One gave a review of a local whore and the other was written by a gladiator at the gym/colliseum.

If you search for pompeii graffiti all sorts of photos and articles pop up describing the ancient graffiti and the modern additions from evil tourists.
