As John Lennon put it: Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans. I had plans to be with you and to keep up with your posts while entertaining you with my own. Alas, those plans were interrupted, again.
I've been bobbing along in the sea of unemployment, sharing floating devices with fellow travelers in this river. We've congregated at the job seeker meetings; called each other from interviews with promises to pull in the next in line; shared tips for grant money; and brainstormed on our own business plans (let's call that last one "looking for the bootstraps.")
The grant money opened wide enough for a few of us to gain access. Woo hoo, that'll give me some additional credentials, access to additional contacts, and get me out of the house, and the dogs (now that Charley is fully healed from his cyst-removal surgery, followed by a stroke, which rebooted him so he's now spry and playful again).
After rediscovering my sense of humor, I got back to the book. Sure, the original concept was killed off by the warning of law suits, but the new version will be going out under my real name. And yes, I did giggle to myself while doing the final edits.
