Greetings all. As a member of the 99ers club (closing in on 99 weeks of unemployment that is about to end), I have been busy, busy, busy. No one hired me with the 20 + year history of marketing, so I've added to the resume.
I've returned to school, getting certifications from a local university on all things marketing: internet, integrated, you name it. I've also finished the book. Those two projects (school and the book) made their way to the newly updated resume in the hope that it will make me stand out from the remaining 14mm unemployed folks trying to get the same five jobs that are being dangled in front of us.
I've changed the title and focus of the book. It is now called "My Humor's Working (Even if I'm Not)." As the introduction explains "this book answers the interview question of: "What have you done with yourself all this time that you've been unemployed." It certainly beats all the hand wringing and whining that other friends in this situation have been doing.
Wish me luck!

Buffy: I hope so. This title made me giggle.
Scanner: I figure success will bump right into me if I block it from every angle and won't let it pass until it pushes right into me.
Aunt Mabel: I guess I'll have to do a Big Reveal and tell my real name. That'll be half of the fun of getting published. Originally, I was going to publish under the Kris name.
Gabby Abby: Yes, I have been busy. And you thought I was enjoying the summer with concerts, street festivals and doggie beach. Ok, I still managed to get all that done too.
Sheila: After being told that I had to rewrite the book and change the focus (or be sued by the FN people who might recognize themselves) it forced me to get busy and get things done.
Bonnie: Pour the good luck on me.
LunchLady2: I bounced around some titles and that one made me giggle.
Owl: That's the main reaction that I'm getting from people.
jimmymac: Hey, now that I finished my unemployment project do you think I'll actually land a job?!?!?!
Mas Alla a/k/a Trudge: Now that I'm back, I'll have to catch up on things like your name change. Thanks.
Cathy: It's so nice of you. I appreciate it.
Best of luck to you. ~R
N from J: You're right. I've been so busy that a job would have gotten in the way ;--)
