My brilliant 2nd career: I am a knitter

Rate: 2 Flag

Mostly, I make felted bags, but lately I am working on an afghan for my daughter's family. It's made of alpaca and bamboo. Alpaca is very warm and bamboo has some antibacterial properties.

Here's a picture of the afghan...

my daughter's afghan

I still have to weave in the loose ends and block it... meaning I have to wash it first in cold water and then block it.

The salon I go to is interested in my felted bags... I'm going to make some for them.

This afghan will have to be pretty long. My son-in-law and my grandson are both about six feet. My daughter is about 5' 10".

I want to add some fringe to it, too.
It's a feather and fan pattern, also known as "old shale."
Very colorful. I'm a fan of alpaca, especially baby alpaca.
pretty....knitting I don't think I have the discipline to master. but when I lived in Rhode Island I did a lot of crochet.....which now that I live in California....hasn't come in handy so much lately....
