Some of the Open Salon regulars are too modest for their own good. Take Mishima's post about his cell phone art, Confessions of a Hack Photographer. What he does is not easy, takes a photographer's eye, and a painterly touch. In the hands of the less talented, other things can happen such as the following:

Whoo -- spooky -- is this in Germany or Transylvania?
Where is Julie Delio when you need her == Julie?
OK, the hint is that this is somewhere in Italy, closer to Hades than most .
Italy -- such a beautiful place?
Jim, something is going wrong here?!
From a walk bridge in Sorrento, Italy!
OK, Mishima, I give it back to you! ;)

Update -- OK, here is the talent of the artist:

In color -=- I like both of these better than mine!
See -- Much Better!
If anyone else wants to play, have at it -- send any submissions to:
I will post all submissions as updates!

It is true that one can spend a long time editing a photo with very sophisticated software. Most of us have neither the time nor inclination for that. But we can end up with perfectly good amateur results in a few minutes using simple software.
Anyway, thanks for inviting me to participate in your "experiment."
I love what we can do with photos/vids now. Mishima's right, the software's become so accesible to "average" people. Like me. Thanks for the fun!
I really love that image looking down on the ruined villa...wish I had been there and taken it. Just gorgeous.
