Late in the Day Good News Sunday in List Form

Rate: 15 Flag

I'll do this in list format:

1.  Got paid more than I anticipated, about $150.00 more, that's huge.

2.  Went grocery shopping, love it when I get food in the house.  Spent more than I wanted to, but hey.

3. Addie, my 17-year-old daughter, came over and spent the night.  We did not fight at all, in fact cuddled and played with the dog, talked about old times, her boyfriend, school.  She wears high heels with her jeans, but her face and hands are still so tiny like a child.  Her father even made an appointment for her so she can get some counseling too.  This should be number one, I guess.  But I got paid before she came over, so.  And the food in the house is so she'll be comfortable too.

4.  I went downtown yesterday to the fancy Goodwill, found an adorable pair of shoes that fit and I wanted them, but they were $30.00, too much to pay for used shoes, so I didn't buy them.  Yay for willpower.

5.  There was some bad news here too.  Saw a Larouche supporter with a poster of Obama with the Hitler mustache.  The good news is he was absolutely alone.  Not one person stopped at his booth and downtown was crowded.

6. Work is rolling in after a slight dry spell.

7.  Fayard, my son, spent the weekend with his father and had a blast, but he's home now.

8.  I made some gluten-free bread that finally came out beautifully.  Like actual bread not a biscuit.

9.  Tomorrow's my day off and I am seeing my therapist and then doing volunteer work at night.   Makes me feel like I'm working toward something better than fixing up my apartment which is my side goal.

10.  And the real good news is that after being off of gluten for months, my stomach is finally starting to flatten.  This with a lot of vegetables and yoga, but I've done that before and it never worked.  So hurray.

11. It's dark here, but my house feels cozy.

That's enough good news, I think.

This is a good list. Congratulate yourself. I feel there's more good on its way.
lots of good here; always glad to read about good everyday things.
Good news for all it sounds like!!
Sounds like a great Sunday! I love the shoes thing. Willpower, ain't it a bitch!
Hooray for good news! Contentedness is good.
That's a great list. Really great. I especially like the daughter part... a whole evening without bickering with a 17 yo daughter??? Nice.
Scarlett--I sure hope so, thanks for coming by.

Dr. Spudman--Yes I like the everyday too, better than the big picture.

Thanks Tink!

Yes, Scanner, I still think of those shoes. It is a bitch.

Hi Juli, yes it is, not as good as being seeded for a race, but I'll take it.

Thanks Waking. Her brother is here now, so with 2 here, we'll see how long we can go without discord.
Reading this makes me happy. I can add THAT to MY list.
Bravo! A stellar list showing the power of simple things to make us feel the most positive. And hopeful. Here's wishing you keep those good vibes a long, long time.
Good on you, latethink! You are an inspiration! And YAY for food in the refrigerator!
Latethink! That is good news! Hope you are well.
Good news comes in large forms and small--appreciate them all. Being surprised with MORE money than you expected is always better than the other way around.
Even thouh it's more than five it's a great list and good to read. Envying that flat belly however.
good list, carrie. I might need to borrow your gluton free recipe for a friend of mine...
Suzy, Sally, Ardee, Next, Jill, Shiral, Linda and Delores! Thank you so much for your good wishes, and the same to you. A real bright spot in my day is reading my commenters. Thanks everyone.
An evening with a seventeen year old without drama - now that is a good thing to have on your list!
