Can a Christmas tree last until Inauguration Day?

YES, IT CAN!

Thanks to wakingupslowly for the clever idea. And to our local fire marshal for not shutting us down (so far).

But most of all, thanks to the voters of America. This time around, you’ve done us all proud.

I absolutely ADORE this!!! So special, so unique, so wonderful, now you've made me sorry I took the tree down this week (Wednesday, the needles, the horror, the fire trap).

Thanks for letting me know you did this. You put a huge smile on my face!

I love your tree!!!! No wonder you kept it up. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
It's beginning to feel a lot like FREEdom... EVerywhere you go...

Great post. Great tree. Great hope!
God, this is so badass I had to visit twice.

Nice crown molding, by the way...
Two visits! Thanks, Persephone 13! May I offer you a drink?
Tip of the hat! Sometimes procrastination has great benefits and this may be the best example ever.
Simply Maaaarvulous Darling! Aren't you hosting an Inauguration Party?! And if you are, where is my invite. AND you are uploading images. Told you it only seemed kinky the first couple times. hehe
I'm so proud of you. So is this the dump in the country you refer to all the time?! Vaulted ceilings, crown molding, ten inch baseboard, fireplace. What a dump.
Silent night ... Barack is calm ... you are bright.

Have yourself a merry little inaugural... LnotL
Michael Rogers, what you don't see is the mess OUTSIDE the picture. The place really is Green Acres with crown molding. Now that I can upload, I'll put up some reality shots soon.
Laurel, this is great! You're not a procrastinator, you're a trend-setter! It looks beautiful, and the bonus is that you don't have to consider throwing it out for another three weeks. Genius!
Oh My God. I. love. this. tree. YOu are so cool L! It's the best inauguation tree EVER!
Three weeks, huh...gee, Lisa, you think so....?
Laurel, I love your tree.
Good on you.
Happy happy happy! Joy joy Joy!
Martini, anyone? Cheese puff? Perhaps another glass of bubbly...
Alright! Me likey!

RATED!!!!!

Happy Inauguration Day Everyone
Greg
I'm so happy I could just... oh I don't know, something inappropriate!

YEAH baby!!!!
THIS. IS. TERRIFIC.
And, are those pictures in one of your posts?!!!

I think I will not be able to sleep tonight, maybe not tomorrow night either.
This is frickin' AWESOME! I love it!

(fire hazard tag too! HAHAHHAHAHA!)
It is absolutely beautiful!
I LOVE Your Inauguration tree!!! Thank you for letting me know it was up (For your own safety, I hope you have a fire extinguisher or a bucket handy, but the symbolism is MARVELOUS.

I feel such relief--it's like the Berlin Wall I was carrying around in my heart has at last been very satisfactorily knocked down. I guess Abe Lincoln was right. "You can fool some of the people all of the time, but you cannot fool ALL of the people all of the time."

It took an agonizingly long time to stop being fooled, but we finally found we had enough gray matter left to rub together and call a national brain.
I was wondering why it was taking you so long on the xmas tree. Not that there's anything wrong with that, even if you hadn't created this terrific tribute, because in Dogpatch when we go to the trouble of putting up a tree, you know it's not coming down anytime soon. I suggest keeping this tree up in that most elegant room (You have a picture rail! Nobody has picture rails anymore - that is so cool! at least until Easter. That mango color (or is it salmon?) looks like a perfect background for an easter egg tree. Meanwhile, that is one great Obama tree. I'll bet the cheese puffs are good, too.
Good morning, everyone! House is still standing. Less than 3 more hours of Bush to go....The world looks pretty good at the moment!
I made the first pic the background on my phone.

Loving it!
but, darn it, I wanted my tree on the cover :-(
How do we make that happen? It should SOOOO be on the cover.
COVER COVER COVER COVER

If we yell really loudly?

COVER COVER COVER COVER COVER
This tree NEEDS to be on the Cover!

Cover Cover Cover Cover!
you think maybe if I strung up a few pairs of underwear???
Well, maybe not new ones.

I "hear" the sentiment you all are gushing about the boards. Kind of makes me feel like I am on a weekend junket camping in a rainstorm. Just kind of put my hand out here and there to see if the rain's stopped. Just trying to keep the gear dry and hope it'll stop before I have to break down the tent and head back home.
beautiful! I love it!
Nice. Just don't eat any hot peppers and breathe on it as you take it down. It won't take much to burn. I hope you enjoy vacuuming up needles. ;-)

Monte
oh god, i love that!!! me=obama bumper stick says "we did it" and t-shirt but not this wonderful idea. thank you.

rated and friended
Okay, it's coming down this morning...soon as I get caught up on messages...walk the dogs...oops, got some bills here to pay....
