About Le Tourment Vert
After nearly a century-long ban, the green spirit is legal again in the U.S. giving way to a new generation of absinthe inspired cocktails. Le Tourment Vert, an authentic French absinthe produced by Distillerie Vinet Ege near the town of Cognac, was created with the modern cocktail in mind. Like the fabled herbal liquor itself, the brand has had a pleasing effect on the U.S. psyche and has been embraced by mixologists, bartenders and the modern creative class.

New Cocktails - Absinthe Alibi and The Naughty Tart

Rate: 4 Flag

The Absinthe Alibi and the Naughty Tart are two of our newest cocktails.  Both were created by Steve Livigni of The Doheny in downtown Los Angeles.

Absinthe Alibi - Now available at Gerber Group properties across the country.

1 oz Vodka
1 oz Canton Ginger Liqueur
.5 oz Le Tourment Vert absinthe
2 oz Grapefruit
.25 oz Simple Syrup

Put Mint in the bottom of the serving glass (tall glass), lightly bruise the mint with a muddler (don't smash it like a mojito)
Fill serving glass with shaved ice (ideal) or cubes
In a shaker, shake remaining ingredients (not mint) and stain into the serving glass
Garnish with Grapefruit peel and mint sprig

The Naughty Tart - The next time you’re in Los Angeles, visit the Stone Rose or Whiskey Blue and try the Naughty Tart, a rendition on the classic cocktail, The Hemingway Daiquiri.

1.25 Light Rum
.5 Le Tourment Vert absinthe
.75 Grapefruit
.25 Lime
.5 Maraschino Syrup (though sometimes people don't like maraschino!), Simple Syrup, or Honey Syrup
***Honey Syrup is made by combining 3 parts Honey to 1 part hot water

Make sure to taste test this ahead of time, lime and grapefruit juice varies like crazy in sweetness so you may need to add more maraschino/simple/honey
