Title
Assistant Guru (not to be confused with Assistant to the Guru)
Bio
Proud native Hoosier who’s settled permanently in New Orleans. Teach English. Live in an old whorehouse with three very talkative and sexually-confused birds and one very talkative bird that isn’t sexually confused at all but just wants what s/he wants, which is pretty much everything and everybody. They appear quite frequently in my writing. Former bedpan wrangler, radio announcer, preschool teacher, and freshman comp. instructor. Once accidentally picked out A Clockwork Orange for a make-out movie. Have a very rational appreciation for the works of Flannery O’Connor and the television show The X-Files and an irrational fear of Meg Ryan. All my friends are drunks.

What I Been Up To...

Rate: 3 Flag

I been working.  Working WAAAAAAYYYY too much.  I'll have to do something about that one of these years.

Oh, and I went the LONG way through Florida (most of the panhandle over, then most of the way down towards Miami) for a wedding.

As always, my cheapo camera will take you along...

Wish you'd said, Hi!
We drove 14 hours down, arrived at 1 am, attended the wedding at 9 in the morning, went swimming, went back to the Econolodge, went to the Ringling Museum in Sarasota and swimming again, back to the Econolodge, and then drove 12 hours home.

There were also stops at Waffle House, Cracker Barrel, and Olive Garden and at truck stops.

Wish we could have had more time.
you have been missed, missy.
Until yesterday my husband, son and I were in New Orleans visiting family. It crossed my mind: I ought to look up Leandra Nolting...but alas you wouldn't have been there anyway. Glad you had a nice time in Florida - we drove from Chicago to Sanibel/Captiva before the BP fiasco. No doubt we'll be back to N. O. before 2011.
Oh yeah, check out my July 26/27th posts from my father-in-law's fancy schmancy dial-up computer down there for a snippet of the-excitement of our visit:). Had a lot more to show and tell but life is too short......
was that you that rode past? I thought so. Come back when you have a second or two to spare.
I think I recognized that sand-piper, he steals my cat's food when he thinks I'm not looking. Fun stuff.
And (R)ated for fun too!
