There is no way I could keep my job if I did this. This is not a way to encourage kids to do better. I have to wonder if there isn't more to the story.

@CrazeCzar: I assume you're thinking some dumb, hillbilly, redneck, area. I was thinking it too at story's start. But actually, "Buncombe Co." holds Asheville, NC which is quite the unusual artsy, progressive , historic enclave tucked in the NC mountains. With its tourism, arts districts, Biltmore Castle, and beatiful scener, Buncombe Co is no typical Southern town!

I think teacher dude is a bit awkard, socially inept. He said he was trying to 'connect' & indentify w/ the kids and it went horribly wrong. His attempt at using popular slang was misunderstood. He's not too bright. He's there to be a teacher not to fit in with the cool kids, "Hey I'm cool I called you a "loooser".

@Steve Kids can be cruel. When I was in school, I always tried to defend the ones that would get picked on. An adult should know better.There is no excuse for an educator acting this way. Thanks for your comments.

How unfortunate. There's always a sour grape or two that cause the whole crate to be branded as "reject". I feel for the little girl and any student who comes across a teacher with such an attitude. ~R~

I think we should just kill all the teachers so we won't have to deal with this anymore.
