Good question :) I don't think it is sincere flattery to copy at all btw, but who am I to make corrections on the beaten path with phrases of a language :) (I do hope I didn't quote anyone without knowing...)

Maybe because "flattery will get you nowhere" but plagiarism can get you to, I don't know, Congress? Quite the philosophical question here, Leon. I'll run it by the folks at TurnItIn to see what they have to say!

Jerry, you'll recall Tom Lehrer said copy from several sources and it's research.

Faster than TurnItIn may be Alta Vista, which is very good at this. Just feed it the opening paragraph and watch the site chew on it, then spit it out.
