All objects originated in something, everything has a history; and behind which is an inventor - someone that pondered the idea first. Generally, there'll be a hot debate over that subject. The 'Pluto platter' would have been a hit understanding that became the basic design, patented as 'Morrison Slope', of most Frisbees until this time.
Wham-O, the organization that made hula-hoops popular, saw the 'Pluto platter' and talked Morrison into selling the look. They started production in 1957 and also the sales soared high. From a decade, the sales for the 'Pluto platter' slowed down and Wham-O was looking for a fresh name to re-introduce the toy to some new market. If they heard about the original name as well as the term frisbie-ing, they considered to borrow the name and market the modern toy as being a sport.
