Libby - you are one tough act to follow! I loved the building up and down and that amazing duo of the rocks and water. Bravo, toots!
What nilesite said. I'd have liked them to be full OS blog column wide too! They are a tad too small as is.

Very cool - I particularly like the banner with Rumsfeld & GW ;-)
You make me gasp with awe and admiration. You put the "c" in contrast and in cunning and in creative and in terrific -yup, it has one, too. ;-)
Central Park? From Lush to Poignant! R
This was cool. Thank-you for sharing all those pictures in contrast.
nilesite, my fellow new yorker, thanks so much for the validation! sky showed me how to enlarge them so the building looking down one is really intense now.

sky, can' t thank you enough for your help in enlarging pix! :-)

jmac, yeah, that pic from a demonstration during the Bush regime! There were faux caskets draped with American flags being carried, too.

chicken maaan, thank you so much for your enthusiasm. I had a couple other jpgs but they were too weighty. I am glad sky taught me how to enlarge the pix.

best, libby
AP, thanks! :-)

Marilyn, the nature scenes except for the very top two and the rocky jetty going out into the water (which are from Sag Harbor, Long Island) are of Central Park. The plane is somewhere between NYC and LA. The portraits were two men (with pony tails) of different generations -- clearly. Thanks for visiting once again! :-)

WIL-thanks so much for stopping by!

Libby,
Thanks for enlarging everything! My old eyes ain't what they used to be...... ;-)

I especially love the drawings!! They are exceptional!

SKY, THANK YOU!!!! I am such a lazy luddite! I was going to wait until I got to work later today and drag the corners of each pic with my mouse. I can't do that on the laptop! Your way was so easy! best, libby
Libby, trully this is such a rich work. I mostly liked the image from the rooftop and the so strong and sensitive drawings. Bravo, and thank you for contributing in making this challenge a tradition with quality in OS. Bravo.
So many contrasts on so many different levels!!!! Wow! Inspiring!
Very cool! I just rated it and it went up 2. I love when it does that!
Great pics especially the nature scenes and the art which is most I guess. ;-)
I appreciate human expression and art but you stole my heart with the picture of people holding that banner. :D
Libby, thanks very much for participating in the Gallery Challenge with your wonderful photo essay! Really dramatic shots and #1 is certainly a building with a view that's breathtaking!
Stathi, so glad you enjoyed this. It was fun to do. Actually, I had more, may do a part 2, but my jpgs were apparently too heavy. Have to figure out how to lighten them.

zanelle, thanks! :-)

Chicago Guy! Thank you! So nice to see ya!

Zachd, thanks. this is the dessert part of open salon for me when I take a break from my political angst!

Timing Logic, I got another pic like that I think your dissenter soul will groove on. Hopefully for an upcoming gallery topic.

designanator, so happy to hear from you and grateful for the challenge and grooved on your contrasts mightily. thanks for commenting on that special room there. I was a guest there at this incredible home/mansion. Who needs a wall screen tv when you got nature out there in front of you like that. There was an awesome porch looking out, too, and a deck nearer the water. the contrasting counterpoint I had to the enclosed room was a bigger scope of the outside landscape than just the tree but I couldn't get it to insert (too large a jpg) so I settled for the treet. That room btw had a telescope by the far window, too. Over on the far right in the dark there. Take care!

best, libby
Wow, so many cool examples, love the buildings up and down and love the changing seasons.
I also echo nilesties comment. The look down from the building gave me vertigo. Fun!
I enjoyed these, and am curious as to place ID. I'm guessing most in New York, yes?
