Will No One Speak Up???

Rate: 9 Flag

I have been waiting for Republican women to speak up for themselves on birth control and control over their own bodies.  I have not seen or heard from any.  Have I missed it???

But now can they not even speak up for the Girl Scouts????

That Congressman in Indiana has made bizarre statements about the Girl Scouts.  AND he used my least favorite term.."pro-abortion agenda" .

FOR THE VERY LAST TIME THERE IS NO PRO-ABORTION AGENDA....people are pro-choice.  No one is pro-abortion!!!!!!!

I am going to calm down now.

I am unaware of the bizarre statements concerning pro-abortion Girl Scouts...? But you posted what I have been wondering, which is What Do The Republican and/or Tea Party Women Have to Say About These Attacks on Birth Control?
I hope you get some comments from bloggers who have run across some commentary. I have since zero.

They're speaking up, you just can't hear them from the kitchen.

From the Ft Wayne newspaper....so you will understand my thoughts about him.
What does he think pre-pubescent girls selling little masonite cookies do to PROMOTE a "pro-abortion" agenda?

But you're right about the Republican women. Have they sold their souls so completely they won't even look at each other and say "Hey, wait a minute?" when it comes to the bad craziness of the elected male members of their party?

Mrs. Gingrich? Wouldn't it have been awkward to get pregnant before your cheating husband was properly divorced from wife no. 2? Mrs. Santorum, are you looking for the latest aspirin in the carpet? Mrs. Romney, are you planning to be a second Mrs. Nixon? We're WAAAAIIIIITING...... And the silence is deafening.

McCain's daughter, Megan (?), was on Rachel Maddow last night coming out against the debacle over birth control and intravaginal ultrasounds. She said the Conservative women weren't going to vote for those policies. Hope peeked over the horizon.
Funnily enough, the Girl Scout story is on the Ed Show.
The Girl Scout thing is bizarre and the silence is also very strange, but then the whole debate is very strange. I assume Republicans like recreational sex (within marriage, of course; they're all Christians so they'd never cheat or have sex outside of marriage), and given that none of the Republicans in my family or neighborhood are popping out babies like a Duggar, I assume they're using some effective method of birth control.

I also know that the staunch Republicans in my family (particularly the racist ones) have no desire to see poor families breed at all, so I'm not sure where this message of "birth control is bad" and "babies for everyone!" is supposed to resonate.
-Thanks so much for all your comments. I am still stunned that there are not any women in the Republican party speaking out on this. One would think they have the same concerns as other women...but maybe there is a BIG SECRET or maybe a CODE OF CONDUCT and I am of course not a party to any of it. If I were them, I would not tell me either. It was gratifying to know that this Bob Morris character in Indiana was THE ONLY ONE who had a problem with recognizing the Girl Scouts on their 100th birthday.
