If I Only Had The Words

Rate: 19 Flag

If I had the words I'd write about how...

The moon was so big and bright overhead
and the spanish moss swayed in the breeze
as it clung to the ancient oaks.

If I had the words I'd tell you how...

The wind freed my mind of its cares
and the vibrating of the bike massaged away
the pain of the fears in my heart.

If I could just find the words you'd know that...

There on the Honda with my head on your shoulder,
I wanted time to stand still and give me that one moment,

But there are no words and nights come to an end and tomorrow holds no promises and so, if we're smart, we take each day and make memories. I have a friend who used to tell me often to just enjoy the ride. Well, dear friend, I wish I could tell you how much I'm enjoying it and I would...

If I only had the words.

Beautiful, Sharon.
true, all of this. especially having no words for it all.
you have the words alright SKay. Nothing like the vibration received through a motorcycle seat is there..
Sounds to me like you have the perfect words. Lovely.
Looks like you already found them. Beautiful.
Vonnia, thank you. Sometimes a little says a lot.

Rita, I'm fortunate because, although T has several bikes and rides every day, he understands how I feel and just smiles sweetly at me.

Steve, you know me well enough to know the answer to that. Ha!! Hey, Hon!

Stevie, how come when you say "lovely" it makes me smile so gratefully and tenderly?

Duane, I've been sitting here staring at this screen for five minutes and find that I don't have the words...again. Not like me, huh?
Dave, you slipped in there on me. I know that you know exactly what I'm talking about and you have to admit that when you're on a deserted road at night with the moon and the smells and the cool breeze and your bodies leaning together into the curves....well, what can you say?
It sounds like you not only have the words, but you know how to use them, too! Beautiful.
Last night was an amazing moon - absolutely.
Patricia, believe me, this was a feeble attempt. But I tried.

Abby, it certainly was absolutely amazing!
The Honda caught me by surprise. -r-
Oh Sharon, sounds like some stories to be told....i hope those words come back real quick....but you told it so well.
You had just the right words , very nice.
Wonderful and grand. Thank you for such beauty.
Wow, you've been riding a motorcycle. It's all that you hoped, I gather. I'm so happy for you. Your words paint a beautiful picture.
I'm enjoying this ride with you and I think you have definitely found the words.
It's a wonderful day when you post.
l'Heure Bleue, mais pas aussi beau que la nuit. vous remercie.

Scupper, I hope it was a Honda we were on and not one of his Subaru's! I'm just learning about bikes. I'm sure he'll let me know if it wasn't. Ha!

Trilogy, I've been having a hard time trying to write about both the nudism and the bikes. That must tell you something about how these things have affected me. I hope I find better words soon.

Anne, thank you. Language is so limiting.

Scylla, you're welcome. I didn't talk about the smells. The fresh mown grass and the rotting leaves and the car exhaust (ugh) and the smell of nothing but the night...

Sirenita, yes, finally! And, yes, I'm enjoying it more than I can say. Duh, obvious from the title, right? Hope you're doing well, sweetheart!

Canuck, I hope you enjoyed your memory. Such a wonderful memory to have....

Cartouche, I'm glad you enjoyed. I think I want to be a writer when I grow up. On second thought, fat chance of that 'cause I don't think I'll ever grow up. Ha!!

Kim, what can I say to that except, thank you, darlin'?!
Well done. I have a Harley, but I will accept the Honda :-) R-
Wonderful Sharon! Good to hear from you again!! r.
