Adopting a cat was the best decision

Claudius loves packing materials

"Owner Surrender"  the tag on his crate said at the animal shelter that my husband and I visited while looking for a kitty to adopt. Why, we wondered, but the people at the shelter didn't know.

He looked at us, said something like "prrrrrrrn", stretched, and came to greet us. We fell in love with him right there and then. We named him Claudius, and brought him home.

Claudius has been living with us for two months now, and our days have certainly been more fun because of him. He makes us smile, he makes us laugh, he makes us forget about stuff that hapenned at work.

No wonder they say that pets help to improve mental health. I believe it now.

If you are feeling low or just need some cheering up, adopting a kitty might be the way to go.

Aw...I love cats. They always cheer me up.
awww. very sweet. I agree about the health benefits of cats. I have a theory that adopting a kitten could cure depression.
I'm a sucker for cats, too. Mine just jumped up on my lap as I was admiring the handsome Claudius.
Silkstone, I subscribe to that theory also. My daughter and I spent hours in my neighbor's attic sitting with his cat and her kittens -- I called it kitten therapy.
Claudius is a handsome boy. I've always found that a purring cat is the best antidepressant.
I'm a cat person too. Two adopted, currently, there have been many and the first one that i ever paid for, a lynx siamese.

look at my posts to see one that i've helped care for. i wish i could bring him home.
Thank you all for all the kitty love. I am so proud of Claudius cuteness, I had to show off. :-)
