I am neither a leader nor a follower, just a philosopher. I make a living as a scientist, but my other interests include politics, history, economy, literature, psychology, and so on... Most of the time though, I just like to wonder why people do the things they do.

When you are hungry: easy tuna and rice recipe

Rate: 1 Flag

I make this when my fridge gets close to being empty before the next weekly shopping. It's so easy, cheap, and delicious that I just have to share it.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cans of Tuna in Water 6 oz
  • 2 cups of Cooked Rice
  • 1 Can of Peas
  • 1 Small Onion
  • 2 tbsp Mayo
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
  • Salt to Taste

 Cooking Instructions:

  1. Start by cooking rice. If you have some precooked rice, even better, it will only take 5 minutes to make the whole meal.

  2. Open the tuna cans and drain completely of water.

  3. Open the can of peas and drain.

  4. Peel and chop an onion into small pieces.

  5. In a mixing bowl, combine rice (warm or cold is fine), tuna, peas, onion, mayo, pepper. Add salt if needed. Feel free to experiment with other spices, a lot of them go very well with these flavors.

  6. Serve warm (if the rice was still warm) or cold with a side of sliced tomato if you like.

  7. Enjoy!

Thank you so much for this. It will save me from takeout again and again.
It's cheaper and probably healthier than takeout. :-)
