- I consider myself a generalist, a dreamer, a visionary, an idealist. I walk both worlds, the inner world of spirit and this outer world we all share in. I have real power, the power of a strong connection to the earth and the power of truth and resilience.
I am committed to being effective in bringing about the changes that must take place in the minds and hearts of people so that we can live in peace and harmony with each other and all life on this planet.
I grew up in the fifties in Lansing, Michigan. My father was a bricklayer, my mother a teacher. I have a strong identification with the working class and ordinary people, and was always quick to defend the underdog and play the devil's advocate.
My strengths are being able to see the big picture and getting to the heart of the matter. I consider that I am a fairly good writer, having worked at this craft my entire life, but I once had a professor who said my true genius was in speaking.
Along with most of the people on this planet, I am seriously concerned with the present state of affairs and lack of balance in the U.S. military dominance.
I am presently teaching English in China. My profession is an ESL teacher, which I have been doing off and on for over 20 years. I have a Master's degree in TESOL from Michigan State University, a Journalism degree from San Diego State University with an emphasis in Public Relations, and a Library Media Assistant AA degree from Pasadena City College.
Research is my passion and main past time, even before the advent of the Internet. I worked in the library at Michigan State University before my son was born in 1986, where I pursued research topics that I was interested in.
When I was in my early twenties, I worked on a book on women's health care as part of a book team at the Feminist Women's Health Center in Los Angeles, doing research at UCLA's medical library that led to a new view of a woman's clitoris. The book is still available in print, "A New View of a Woman's Body."
I am working again with a team of writers on another book with the working title of "Opening Our Hearts and Sharing Our Dreams of What May Be" to share our visions and action plans for the young people coming of age (between the ages of 16-21) and support them in carrying out what needs to be done to manifest the world that they want to have for themselves.

Dennis Kucinich's Terrific Commencement Speech
I consider Dennis Kucinich heads above all the other politicians today in the U.S. He is remarkably intelligent. He actually represents the people and their interests. He's a visionary who can see how to lead us out of the morass we're in. Dennis has also known real hardship, and k… Read full post »
From the Edge of Asia: An American Reports from Malaysia
I'm starting a weekly newsletter, From the Edge of Asia: an American Reports from Malaysia, to help carry me over for the next few months until my new position as an ESL teacher begins at UCSI in Kuala Lumpur. Help a starving writer! I am asking for a love offering of… Read full post »

For a decade, I have been trying to get the use of torture at Diego Garcia investigated, to no avail. Nevertheless, I made a vow to the men who have been tortured and held prisoner there that I would not forget them, and that I would continue to do what I… Read full post »
Kuala Lumpur War Crimes Tribunal
Today I visited the Kuala Lumpur Foundation to Criminalise War at the offices of the Perdana Global Peace Foundation (www.perdana4peace.org). The offices were on the top floor of an impressive building of Islamic architecture with a large open space in the center with fountains. This beau… Read full post »
Dream Inspired Delving into Feminist Past
Here in Kuala Lumpur on vacation, waiting for a new job to begin, I've had time for thinking, long conversations, and philosophizing. In my dreams in recent weeks, I've been having long conversations with Carol Downer, the leader of the LA Feminist Women's Health Center where I worked in… Read full post »
We Declare an End to War
The Earth Council of Women declares the end to all wars of any kind: hot or cold, declared war on another country or people, undeclared war, military, cyberspace, space command, economic or psychological, and most certainly, planned wars, in particular, WWIII.
We demand:
1. Profit from… Read full post »
War or Peace? You Choose.
by Ariel Ky 11/11/11
The absurdity of a preemptive war is quite clear to me, if not to everyone. First of all, even the phrase is an oxymoron -- how can you describe a war as preemptive? War is war, and it's always destructive, chaotic, and… Read full post »
In Solidarity with Prisoners of Conscience on Jeju Island
Following are quotes that I found to convey solidarity with the prisoners of conscious on Jeju Island who are resisting construction of a naval base there.

Solidarity with Wall Street Protestors
I want to express support for the people out there on the streets protesting Wall Street's crimes.
Maybe we won't see an immediate result that makes it seem worthwhile to get out there and show your anger and rejection of what's coming down on the American people.
Maybe a rigged… Read full post »
RICO Matters: Are Wall Street and Big Banks Corrupt?
If you are angry at what the bank executives are getting away with in the banks too big to fail, and think that Wall Street is corrupt, you may wonder if our government is also entirely corrupt because it would seem they're in cahoots to cheat people out of their money.… Read full post »
WE LOVE EACH OTHER - China and the U.S.
We must always remember that China and the United States are dancing in a love relationship. Return to U.S.
I've returned to the U.S. after seeing the world the past five years, so that I could spend some time with my mother in Oceanside.

And I'm going through culture… Read full post »
Stop War Games with South Korea!
The U.S. needs to stop carrying out war games with South Korea that skirt the border with North Korea, continually taunting and threatening the North Koreans. This is behavior extremely unbecoming of a great power. It is not unlike bullies in the school yard throwing their weight around.… Read full post »
Despair
I've seen the future and it's ugly. The U.S. and China are at war and the U.S. uses its space weapons to kill most of the people in China. Other countries unite to fight the U.S. It uses all of its bombs to kill most of the people in the world,… Read full post »

Yearning to be Free Expressed in Solidarity in Yemen
Power does come from the people. President Ali Abdullah Saleh in Yemen is finding out that using force to stay in power is no longer effective (not even with the U.S. as a benefactor); the revolutions happening today are the human spirit budding like the leaves on the trees in the… Read full post »
