Sadness..

Rate: 11 Flag

Sadness isn't always a bad thing

It can serve you..in remembrance.

Maybe as a reminder of what can be lost

So quickly in a look or an unguarded word.

Sadness tells of things unfixed,

Made broken or left broken

On purpose or purely by accident.

Maybe it's a prayer unasked, a deed unforgiven,

A secret untold.

In this remembrance

You don't have to lose

Try kindness first.

Fix what you can.

Always ask in prayer,

And don't feel the need for secrets.

Sadness is not always a bad thing,

It has healing properties.

This is so true. I think you have to let emotions be once in a while. One of my favorite sayings, "This too shall pass."/r
I agree. Without sadness, how would you know when you are happy?
I agree. I sense when I am sad.

We folk sow in sadness. Later?

We reap the harvest. It's joy.
`
a natural miracle
`
Somehow sad yield great joy.
Sad/Joy commingle. Oneness.

I Listen to classic eulogies too.
Honest. Sadness dissipates too.
I can't explain. Let's experience.
Interestingly enough for me, sadness is sometimes a warm and comforting feeling. I don't mean this in any weird way - just to say that it's familiar and I know it will pass. Sort of a temporary childlike moment that is okay. I enjoyed this.
Cindy, to be honest I am with austerity and laughing in rare times...I sense melancholia and this feeling can become even creative, but sadness to me is a burden that breaks me. I am even afraid of this feeling. But I can understand the meaning of your words, and the image is so beautiful. Rated.
yes... make's me think of one of my favorite Kahil Gibran quotes: "the deeper sorrow carves into your being, the more joy it can contain."
Most of my poems come from this place. I heard it termed brokenhearted warrior, the places that are broken keep us tender and vulnerable.
Thanks for this Cindy.
A beautiful reminder, Cindy, so true. R
[r] these lines caught me up fast.

"Made broken or left broken
On purpose or purely by accident."

nice. like the pic too. best, libby
Christine..I like that saying too.
Scanner: Sort of shouts that out huh?
Art: Glad you caught the essence of it.
Grif, I understand that 'staying in sad ' mode. I think depression has alot to do with wanting or needing to stay there awhile, thanks for coming.
Stathi..We are conditioned to feel that sad is bad. I was taught to be quiet showed a lack of intelligence, now I talk too much, sometimes. I have to re-condition myself to understand that I will learn alot more listening. Understanding sadness helps deal with it.
Mime: I love Mr. Gibran, so connected a man. "Work is love made visible." also a quote I love.
Rita: yes, 'places we are broken'..I like that. No one escapes life with no grief.
jackie: thanks for coming by!
Thoth: So alike are many of our emotions that thye can mesh into each other, but all tell of what is in the heart.
Libby: Yeah, sometimes leaving them broken is for a purpose, we like to rub salt in our wounds, crazy as that sounds. BTW that picture is of our driveway in 80 acres we own, and are selling.:(
