Bio
Born and raised in suburban Chicago to a multi-cultural family of hardworking, working class people, I was given every available tool to make me a contributing member of society -- Catholic school, Girl Scouts, lessons in several of the arts, even a debutante bow at the ball. I wasn't having any of it. Oh, I DID it all, but always with a flair that was not appreciated by those who attempted to guide me. Although I managed to have a fairly successful corporate career, it would have been so much more so, had I just followed the prescribed rules of the road to the top. Wouldn't do that either.

Gay pride

To me, this is a no-brainer.  You do your thing, I'll do mine.  I'm  straight, you're gay.  I'm black, you're white.  I'm old, you're not.  So what?

I don't understand how it is anyone else's business what two consenting adults do in private.  Does the idea of being sexual with another woman turn me on?  Nope, I'm straight.  Does the idea of two men doing things to each other that make them hot give me the creeps?  Nope, I do some of the same things with men.

The idea that this is a religious issue is ridiculous, but even if it were a religious issue, that should be between the Deity and the individual.  Where do the so-called Faithful get off deciding what's okay and not okay for OTHER PEOPLE?  They have all they can do to keep themselves on their version of the straight and narrow.

Of course the LGBTQI community should have the same rights as everybody else.  If the money-grubbing, soulless, unscrupulous, lint-licking, fiscal rapists of Wall Street can have rights, there should be no limitations for any other human being.

I love the post, love the picture and, most of all, love the love. thank you!

P.S. Nice tags! ;-)
I couldn't have said it better!
And even if this were a religious issue, it should never matter, as to LAW, under our Constitution.
People who want religion to matter, as to LAW, would be comfier living in Iran.

Posts like this mean the world to folks like me, and my family . . . it takes all of us to make change!
Everyone should have the right to have a family. When we deny people the right to have a family we break down the very basis for society. If we want family values then we have to value families. God created each of us, if he didn't screw up the number of hairs on your head how would he screw up something so vital. Jesus said Love one another as I have loved you.

May I add weak, whiny, lazy, moochers to the Wall Streeters.
Wise words!

I love your line, "I do some of the samethings with men." Touche!
Amy: My pleasure

Amana G: Et cum spiritu tuo!

Fay: Yeah you could. lol

Jon: Don't confuse the haters with the facts, buddy.

Owl: I'm glad to see you say that.

Bleue: I'll add your perfectly chosen adjectives when I repost.

Libmomrn: Glad you agree!

Dahlia16: Thanks!

Bobbot: Gracias, Roberto
****Cheering here****
I just love it and the graphics are perfect.
Wise words for us all here.
Thanks, Mission. It's from the heart.
Yeah! I've said it before and I'll say it again. You have to get a CIVIL license before you can get married at a church. That makes marriage a CIVIL issue. Let people love and marry whoever they damn well please!
Lemompulp, I had a feeling you would agree. LOL
I want to rate this and tell you how much I agree, but I read
"I do some of the same things with men" and my mind got distracted.
LOL. Cranky, you're back. You must distract pretty easily -- I didn't say what things and I didn't say how long ago. Hee hee
I can't rate this highly enough. I'm frickin BUSY -- I don't care who moves in next door, whether they are gay, straight, married, living in sin. Do they make their dogs behave (no barking at 3 am). Does one of them bake? Because I'm all about the strawberry bread...I'll forgive anything. A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G for the strawberry bread.
Now you're getting to the important stuff, Bellwether! Thanks.
