Turkey and Dumplings

Turkey Dumplings Recipe

It got cold on Thanksgiving here in the Ozark mountains of Missouri so we welcomed the idea of using our leftover turkey in the comforting dish of Turkey and Dumplings.  Here is the recipe for making this great dish:

After you have eaten your fair share of turkey, you cut off the leftover meat on the turkey and put it into a tupperware to save for later in the fridge.  Next, you will "kidney cook" the bones, which means you boil the piss out of them, in a pot.  After that you take out the bones and skin leaving small pieces of meat and turkey broth.

Have ready about three tubes of biscuits.  Flatten out each biscuit and pull off small pieces to drop in the pot.  Boil biscuits in the turkey broth and then put a top on the pot and simmer on low for about an hour.

We also spiced this dish with red pepper and soul food seasoning.

According to my step-son Britin, "This dish is yellow and spicy.  You might want to drink water with it so your mouth doesn't get hot."

This is a great "Turkey Day" dish and if you like dumplings, you will really like this version.

This is also a great cold weather dish and great for Christmas and other holidays.

I love anything that's had the piss boiled out of it. And this sounds great.
Sounds yummy, crap I knew I should have brought some turkey home!
