However, this real life version of "Big Love," that chronicles the marriage(s) of a polygamist family in Utah is only possible because of feminism. Specifically, this newest addition to the cable channel known for showcasing unusual family situations relies on feminist principles of choosing one's own domestic circumstances because of spiritual/personal, economic and social purposes.
What is most interesting about "Sister Wives" is that it is a show made possible by feminism but clearly reflects a postfeminist perspective as described by author Diane Negra in her book, "What A Girl Wants." Specifically, "Sister Wives" reflects these three specific postfeminist principles:
