A Mother Weeps

Rate: 10 Flag

A mother weeps today

She weeps for a child lost

Lost on this earth

Lost in his body

A mother weeps tonight

She weeps for she is alone

Alone with her thoughts

Alone with her demons

A mother will weep tomorrow

She will weep for change

Change that pledges escape

Change that does not come

A mother weeps

She weeps

Weeps

Weeps

So sad, so desperate, yet so true in this life.
Having your child injured or killed is one of the worse things that can happen to a parent. This was a great poem!
May she take comfort that she is not weeping alone. Very touching, indeed. ~R~
Tor, scanner and FusunA - Thank you for your stopping by and commenting. I truly appreciate it.
Despondant, dispairing. Alone, loss.........you hit core here.
I hope you are ok?
Hi JD ~ yes, all okay with me. I wrote this in five minutes late last night after reading another's post. I was very touched by the posts and circumstances of that writer. Thank you for commenting.
Kate--wow, I am so deeply touched and moved. I am moved by the poem, by its' base of feeling. But I am more deeply moved that you wrote it in response to my post last night. You have a good heart, my dear, a good heart. It's nice to meet you.
Phew! I held my breath while you read and hoped you would be okay with it. It is my pleasure to meet you. Best wishes.
We mothers spend a good deal of time weeping. Thankfully, a lot of time we are weeping with joy. Again...that heart of yours.

LintheSoutheast (Lezlie) - Yes, the joys of parenthood and having children in our lives far outweigh the moments of sadness and sorrow but unfortunately for some, the sadness is enduring.

mLee - a new habit? I think perhaps it is or, at least, could be my focus for now. I often feel so touched and moved by the stories of others here that I just want to be able to give something personal to them ... so I hope my attempts at a half-decent poem as a tribute of sorts, aren't offensive in any way and are taken for what they are meant to be ... my personal way of letting them know that they are in my thoughts.
