TORN

Rate: 14 Flag

Torn between our distant shores

Separated by the miles

Words have drawn us together

And we seal them with our smiles

Torn between a life we have

And the one we someday might

Torn between what may be wrong

But what too could be so right

Torn between such aching pain

That threatens our existence

Torn between enormous gain

Is it not worth persistence?

Hearts and minds so very torn

Sleep on it, my love, till morn

Now that's the stuff. Sweet wording and beautiful meaning. R
Beautiful, Kate. Just beautiful, and with a message. R-
I really, really like this, Kate. There is so much beauty in your heart.

Lezlie
"Words have drawn us together

And we seal them with our smiles"

One of the best sonnets I've seen, Little Kate! msp
Judge: It's lovely to see you again! Thank you so much for stopping by and commenting.

Dave: From one poet to another .... I am most honoured!

Lezlie, that is just so very sweet of you to say. Thank you!

Kit: Did I just see those three little letters! Oh my! Thank you!
Once again you have so poetically echoed sentiments with which I am quite familiar. Every stanza hits close to home brilliantly.
It sounds like you also are suffering because of love or lack of it. I'd be curious to know who this was written for. I have a guess. :)
Smithery: Yours and Angela's story has so touched my heart ... and your words of appreciation bring a smile.
I think I have been in this place before.
I think I have been in this place before.
Patricia: Hi! Lovely to see you again! This was inspired by a couple here on OS who recently celebrated a very special anniversary. No names from me though!
This really hits home -- as you state right and wrong is just not that simple --
aws: Welcome! A new friend ... how lovely!

Marty's Husband: It's so nice to see you too, my friend! If only life was simple, eh?
A special poem with a special message.
Kate,
I love this poem!
The conflict of risk/reward is what we all struggle with. The tension is evident and only if a good night's sleep could provide the answer... CARPE DIEM!
Wow, there is a whole book, filled with a love story, economically driven to separation, in between these well written lines. Bravo. R
I loved this so full of longing..love.
l'Heuere Bleue: My pleasure!

scanner: And a special thank you to you!

Bluish Mood: Welcome! It's lovely to meet you! Risk and reward ... heart and mind .... choices and decisions ... struggles all.

Sheila: Such a wonderful compliment! Thank you!

LL2: Thank you, lovely Lady!
I will own the first stanza...smiling at you, my friend.
This was beautiful. Deserving of an 'msp" (although I don't know what that is!)
trilogy: Hey there, my good friend! Yes, I think you and many of my OS friends can own the first stanza! And I SMILE back at you!

(An 'msp' = Monkey Sue Pick .... via OS's gorgeous Kit Duncan!)
mLee: I'm sure trilogy will share ... Won't you tril? Share and share alike! You both make me smile! :-) Yay!!!!!

Thank you for such kind words. Safe travels my friend!
Of course I'll share - with two of my favorites, mLee & Kate!
Thanks, tril! You're a real gem, sweetpea!
Thanks to that rascal Monkey Sue, I caught this one. It's beautiful, Kate. It resonates so much with me. You are an excellent poet. ~R
Fusun: That this poem resonates with you really touches my heart. My best wishes to you, my friend.
