Crescent Moon and Stars - http://www.nunukphotos.com/a-crescent-moon-photos.html

On silver star a gleam

Reflecting purest love

And by crescent moon I dream

His love a radiant beam

Glowing warmth from above

On silver star a gleam

Love flitters so supreme

On the wings of a dove

And by crescent moon I dream

Love like a gentle stream

Meanders hand in glove

On silver star a gleam

Time and distance extreme

But ‘tis him I think of

And by crescent moon I dream

Enchanted it may seem

He is my one truelove

On silver star a gleam

And by crescent moon I dream

You write and love beautifully.
Beautiful Kate. I could cheat and repost my only other villanelle. Maybe I'll have time by the weekend to think of one. you did a great job with this - these are not easy to do!

trilogy: Hi there, tril! I really appreciate your thoughts on my poetry ... I've never done a Villanelle before! I know what it's like to not have much time (I certainly pulled this one together in a bit of a rush I must admit) so I say by all means re-post ... I don't see it as cheating.

smithery: I have the chance to gaze out my window at the moon and stars most evenings... and sit with my thoughts and dreams .. and I do feel very much at peace.
joan: Hello sweet lady! Thank you so much.

Dave: Thank you for the challenge! I didn't think I was going to find time to try this one and I did rush it a bit but I enjoyed it very much. I've learnt something new about poetry and that makes me happy ... YAY!!!!!
Nice. Very nice and gentle and dreamy.
This was very romantic, as I vision it, a woman stands on a widows walk thinking of her beloved at sea. He is on his way to her now, not only in her dream, she has willed it thus, come he must! He is older, his beard graying, she is a bit slower, but they wait for each other. Visiting in dreams, lost in each others visions, a half world away, but soon to be reunited. Oh, sorry, going off again. Beautiful stuff you wrote, makes my imagination go wild. Very well done. R
This is a wonderful example of a difficult form. So sweet and full of love. I love your photo too. I guess I love all things moon.
