You asked for it, J D Smith! Round 3 it is!
But first let me fill in those of you who are wondering what this is all about.
From time to time, J D Smith has challenged me and others to write poetry … whether in one voice or another or on a particular topic. So recently I called him out and challenged him to write a poem with ‘children’ as the topic. J D met the challenge with an overwhelmingly beautiful poem titled, Children of Their Domain.
I was overwhelmed too by the many others here on OS who also joined in on the fun. Not only were there some amazing pieces of poetry but there was also a wonderful sense of community. Even non-poets joined in which was absolutely fabulous!
But not to let a chance go by to garner yet more poetry, J D returned with another challenge to write a poem on ‘First Kiss’. And with this challenge the title of IRON POET was coined.
So here we are now --- Round 3 of the IRON POET CHALLENGE and the topic is.....
“REMEMBERING AN ANGEL”
At Christmastime we are all so busy buying presents, partying, writing cards, cleaning house, getting on top of work responsibilities and generally preparing for the big day, that we often don't have time to stop and reflect on other things ... other people.
Each Christmas I try to find a moment to pause … to reflect … and remember those that have been lost to me, that I miss so very much, and who will not be joining me at the Christmas table.
And so it seems to me that this might be a good opportunity for all of us to pause, reflect, and remember our angels.
And if you don't write poetry (although I would love that you give it a go), that's okay ... please feel free to write in ANY format! The idea is to join in and honour those who will not be here this Christmas.
So off we go ....
Any poetic form
OR
Any Form (for non-poets)
Just please join in!
Please include “REMEMBERING AN ANGEL” in your tag.

With respect to Round 3. This will be my first Christmas without my wife of 59 years. There's a poem there somewhere. I'll try to find it.

I might not be around much today ... I MUST make some inroads on my Christmas shopping so if I'm a little late in reading, please accept my apologies ... I'll be back to read all as soon as I can.
