OS Blogiversary

Rate: 43 Flag

It was my “Blogiversary” last week.
My first! It came and went before I knew
And now I’ve missed the party so to speak.
No cake nor whistles. Maybe this’ll do.

I’ll mark the day with simple verse; a rhyme.
And smile a smile of thanks for blessings found
In this abode where I spend treasured time
Where writers and poets and friends abound.

Ah yes, one year ago I joined OS
And anniversaries are often sweet.
This one is no exception I profess
As being here with you has been a treat!

How time flies when you're having fun!

You've taught me much and teach me still. Thank you!
We are the lucky ones that are blessed with your presence, Kate. Sorry I didn't know about the date, otherwise, it there would've been a big party.
To a happy second one of enjoying your friendship, kindess and beautiful poetry.
Hurrah, and congrats!! And neat poem.
Happy first year. Here's to as many as you want! ;-)
If I knew how to throw a cake into comments I would. It's been a pleasure to call you friend this past year and I believe our freindship will endure. Long after OS is gone.
Congratulations, and what a fun poem to celebrate!
Happy Blogiversary! xox
Happy Blogiversary!! It's been a pleasure reading you.
Time flies, you've said it yourself! A year already?! It seems only yesterday.
Congrats!!!!
Happy Blogiversary, Little Kate! We are fortunate to have you in the OS community.
Isn't this a fun place? I have to drag myself away to get things done, I enjoy reading so much. How are you doing, Kate? Has the weather straightened out?
WHOO HOO.. two more months for me..
I have turned the music on and we shall dance.
I feel like you are part of and am so glad you are here.
rated with hugs
I know I had you as a favorite before...that's happened with a couple of other people. Well, I clicked again.
Happy Belated Blogiversary, Katie-Kate. We have been the winners in this relationship.

Lezlie
Aw gee, no cake? I love cake. Maybe next year?
What a nice and neat little poem and the sentiments were sweet, too.
...and many more, Little Kate! Thanks for your presence and voice here! xo
Fusun: My dear, dear friend ... when I think of you and other dear friends here, I truly feel as though it is me who has been blessed. But THANK YOU so very much for your beautiful sentiments.

mLee: Oh my. What a beautiful thing you've just said to me. That touches my heart more than I can say. Thank you, dear friend.

Matt: Smiling! Thank you!

Mimetalker: Thank you for celebrating with me! I'm not sure how many I "want" but I know that every day here, being amongst friends, has been a blessing.
cheers!
::a party is easy enough to whip up::

Thank *you*, Little Kate~
Happy 1st. You are a pleasure to read and loved you poem!
trilogy: Oh so smiling friend! I'll imagine sharing a piece of cake with you and perhaps one day we'll be able to share for real! Friends forever for sure! : )

Oryoki Bowl: Thank you so much for celebrating with me. Your kind words are so very much appreciated too!

Robin: Oh thank you too! How wonderful!

Fernsy: Oh it's so good to see you! Thank you friend for these lovely words. I appreciated them so very much.
vanessa: I know! A year! Who would have thunk it! :P Thank you for being here with me and always reading!

Rita: I've always felt so very welcome here and that I have made so many new friends .... well, I am so very grateful!

Janice: It is indeed a FUN place and I know what you mean about having to drag yourself away! A condition I think that afflicts many of us! The weather where I live (in northern NSW) was glorious over the weekend. It is our southern state of Victoria that has major flooding now. But Brazil ... oh when I think of what has happened there ... just so very sad. (Thank you for re-favouriting me too! Cheers!)
Congratulations, and thank you for your generosity and inspiration!

catch-22: I kind of feel like this is a party happening right now! I didn't expect so many friends to show up so quickly! Honestly ...thank you!

scanner: For some reason I feel like putting my hands behind my back, sweep at some dirt with my shoe and sheepishly say, "Aw shucks, scanner!" : )
I am happy you are here. On to year #2! ~r
Hooray, happy blogoversary. I really enjoy your work. Many more!!! rrr

Your sweet poem was a treat! And calorie-free, too. Happy anniversary.
Hi Kate,
Thanks for all the smiles ( and the occasional lump in the throat ),
and for cleaning up the mess Larry left in the truck stop.
Fair dinkum.
Margaret: A new friend! How lovely! Thank you for good wishes!

Kim: Do you think we could teach Larry to clean up after himself? Fair dinkum AND crikey! And, Kim, smiles always a pleasure ... but lumps in the throat? oh dear ... I am sorry.
Kate, by jingo. I want to shove aside all the nice people here and yell and yell about your poem. It is too good to let it get only passing notice.

It is HARD to do what you've done - those syllables don't fall into place all by themselves, it takes a lot of whacks at each line before they step into formation. And to set up a phrase like "Maybe this'll do" so that it scans perfectly is SO GOOD THAT IS GOES UNNOTICED.

There is such beauty to normal, unremarkable, everyday English when it SCANS and RHYMES!

By f-ing jingo, Kate. By f-ing jingo.
Hey Lil' great to have you here, you have a wonderful spirit and your support of all our poems has been unwavering. I can always count on a cheery note. Thanks Lil'.
DB! Oh my God! Am I dreaming???? Did you just say all those wonderful things and also "By f-ing jingo"???

Oh my!!! If only you could see my face ... my smile ... right now!

Thank you, DB! THANK YOU!!!!
blessings on your blogoversary, sweet little kate
Rita: It is wonderful to be here amongst friends like you. Friends who share and care. What a blessing! And to be able to chat with you and all the gang at Kim's Truckstop into the wee ours of the night or morning ... whatever the case may be ... and just be ... such a blessing for sure.

And that you call me Lil' ... still makes me smile! Thank you, Rita. Thank you!
Fusun took the words right out of my mouth - WE are the lucky ones to have had the pleasure of your presence for the past year! Here's to many more happy blogiversaries!
PS I ran right past mine, too, only it was long, long ago. Way back in July, I think.
dianaani: You just quietly snuck in there, didn't you? That's how I think of you... a quiet and gentle friend. Thank you for being here and sharing with me.
Happy anniversary!! with bells and whistles!! Nice poem.r
Unbreakable: Hello lovely lady! They way you guys pick me up is unbelievable! The last few days I've struggled a bit and then to have these wonderful words from you ... from everyone here ... well, I can't tell you how blessed I really do feel. Thank you! And, Kim, HAPPY BELATED BLOGIVERSARY to you too!
hugs, me: Ah ... thank you for bring the bells and whistles! (Sorry I forgot the cake!) THANK YOU!
Happy bloggoversary!! Mine was this past week too, but it slid by and I didn't even realize it. All I remember about last year at this time was starting her, then finding out mother was dying and not even writing much of quality.

Ah, but Kate, you are the queen of quality! I am so glad you found me so I could find you!! Another friend for life.
So glad to have 'met' you here!
Little Kate~ A (belated) happy happy~ !
pastvoices: Happy Belated Blogiversary to you too, friend! And I think it's pretty wonderful that we found each other here!

Oh Little Kate is from Down Under.
What's she up to? I often wonder.
Writing in rhythm and images strong.
I hope she continues to do so for long.

Happy Blogiversary, kiddo!
Happy day! On to a great next year.

I am throwing confetti...and wishing I had a vacuum cleaner that worked!
Algis: Stay forever????!!!! Oh I don't know that I can promise you that, Algis!

JD: Well then please stop throwing confetti, JD!
It's "your" anniversary and you gift "us" with this special poem. Happy blogiversary!
iq: Oh, you would love Australia! And New Zealand is absolutely a gorgeous place too. The scenery in South Island is spectacular! And if you like, I would love to welcome you down under and show you around a little too. Thank you for your kind words too ... they are very kind indeed. : )

Fay: Aww, thank you. I enjoyed writing this so I'm very glad you liked it.
I'm so glad you are here with us, Kate. I learn so much from you.
You're a nice lady, Kate! I often wondered, when I was a child, why people who lived in Australia didn't fall off, since they were living on the bottom side of the world. Now I know it's because Australians tend to have their feet so firmly planted on the ground.
Janice: Oh my Lord! I can't believe my good fortune to have made such wonderful friends here that leave me these beautiful messages. Thank you!

Dorien: And from you too comes the nicest message! Thank you! I smile to think that you thought that of Aussies when you were a child. : ) Yes, I think our feet are firmly planted on the ground most of the time ... perhaps it's why we're often referred to as being "very down to earth". But I have to warn you, sometimes I do have my head high in the clouds because I'm an absolute hopeless romantic!
Happy Anniversary. Many more.
Sheba: Thank you! It's very nice to see you here.
Yes! Congratulations! It is a significant moment...and yet I missed my OWN! It seems like I've been here forever. And isn't that the catch of a loving environment?
