It was my “Blogiversary” last week.
My first! It came and went before I knew
And now I’ve missed the party so to speak.
No cake nor whistles. Maybe this’ll do.
I’ll mark the day with simple verse; a rhyme.
And smile a smile of thanks for blessings found
In this abode where I spend treasured time
Where writers and poets and friends abound.
Ah yes, one year ago I joined OS
And anniversaries are often sweet.
This one is no exception I profess
As being here with you has been a treat!

mLee: Oh my. What a beautiful thing you've just said to me. That touches my heart more than I can say. Thank you, dear friend.
Matt: Smiling! Thank you!
Mimetalker: Thank you for celebrating with me! I'm not sure how many I "want" but I know that every day here, being amongst friends, has been a blessing.
::a party is easy enough to whip up::
Thank *you*, Little Kate~
Oryoki Bowl: Thank you so much for celebrating with me. Your kind words are so very much appreciated too!
Robin: Oh thank you too! How wonderful!
Fernsy: Oh it's so good to see you! Thank you friend for these lovely words. I appreciated them so very much.
Rita: I've always felt so very welcome here and that I have made so many new friends .... well, I am so very grateful!
Janice: It is indeed a FUN place and I know what you mean about having to drag yourself away! A condition I think that afflicts many of us! The weather where I live (in northern NSW) was glorious over the weekend. It is our southern state of Victoria that has major flooding now. But Brazil ... oh when I think of what has happened there ... just so very sad. (Thank you for re-favouriting me too! Cheers!)

Lezlie: "Katie-Kate" ... makes me smile! Thank you too for this lovely thing that you say. Sincerely ... Thank you.
John: I love it too but somehow forgot it! Next year for sure!
maryway: I am glad you liked it but more, I am glad that you are here. Thank you!
catch-22: I kind of feel like this is a party happening right now! I didn't expect so many friends to show up so quickly! Honestly ...thank you!
scanner: For some reason I feel like putting my hands behind my back, sweep at some dirt with my shoe and sheepishly say, "Aw shucks, scanner!" : )
Surazeus: Oh my ... that is beautiful! I will print that and treasure it. Thank you!
heidibeth: Thank you friend! It is indeed a real treat for me to write something such as this poem and have all of you read. You're all too good to me.
Bernadine: YAY!!!! Smiling here! Thank you!
Thanks for all the smiles ( and the occasional lump in the throat ),
and for cleaning up the mess Larry left in the truck stop.
Fair dinkum.
Kim: Do you think we could teach Larry to clean up after himself? Fair dinkum AND crikey! And, Kim, smiles always a pleasure ... but lumps in the throat? oh dear ... I am sorry.
It is HARD to do what you've done - those syllables don't fall into place all by themselves, it takes a lot of whacks at each line before they step into formation. And to set up a phrase like "Maybe this'll do" so that it scans perfectly is SO GOOD THAT IS GOES UNNOTICED.
There is such beauty to normal, unremarkable, everyday English when it SCANS and RHYMES!
By f-ing jingo, Kate. By f-ing jingo.
Oh my!!! If only you could see my face ... my smile ... right now!
Thank you, DB! THANK YOU!!!!
And that you call me Lil' ... still makes me smile! Thank you, Rita. Thank you!
PS I ran right past mine, too, only it was long, long ago. Way back in July, I think.
Ah, but Kate, you are the queen of quality! I am so glad you found me so I could find you!! Another friend for life.
mypsyche: And I you! : )
Inverted Interrobang: YAY!!!! Thank you!
What's she up to? I often wonder.
Writing in rhythm and images strong.
I hope she continues to do so for long.
Happy Blogiversary, kiddo!
Pilgrim: Aww ... thank you so very much, dear and sweet friend! I love that you wrote that for me!
sophieh: Thank you! Marching forward ....
h-Julie: And I am glad you are here too, Julie, and even "gladder" to be able to call you a friend.
anna1liese: It is my good fortune to have met youm my friendm and that we can share with each other, an absolute blessing. Thank you.
I am throwing confetti...and wishing I had a vacuum cleaner that worked!
JD: Well then please stop throwing confetti, JD!
Fay: Aww, thank you. I enjoyed writing this so I'm very glad you liked it.
Dorien: And from you too comes the nicest message! Thank you! I smile to think that you thought that of Aussies when you were a child. : ) Yes, I think our feet are firmly planted on the ground most of the time ... perhaps it's why we're often referred to as being "very down to earth". But I have to warn you, sometimes I do have my head high in the clouds because I'm an absolute hopeless romantic!
