A picture
painted with all the colours of imagination
hangs in the gallery of my mind
A beautiful image
and I can't help but gaze upon it with delight

I suspect it will hang there forever more

A sound
playing over and over again
in my ear
A voice --
your voice
unique and soothing
but becoming almost inaudible now
I try hard to remember it
and I ache to hear it

But I fear I may never hear it again

A wish
uttered countless times
rests now upon my lips
Yes, it rests
but only for a while --

I will utter it again

This blew me away. It reminds me of the way a song might be written. Rated for beauty.
Bittersweet memories. this is good, not fun but good.
Brilliance.. poetry in motion.
rated with hugs
You aren't done with it, is that it? Every woman can identify. Beautiful and stirring, Kate. Are the floods/rain/hurricane over with? You'd think we lived in the middle of a rain forest for all the world news we get!
This is so beautiful. Thank you for the images. -R-

"Untitled" is the perfect title for this Kate. I relate to it too well - or understand you through it. Beautifully expressed my dear friend. Bittersweet and wistful.
I like pictures with color that stay in my mind's eye -- you do remember some forever...
Somehow I feel as though I am inside these words. Lovely, Kate.

Very nice. I love the opening lines:
"A picture
painted with all the colours of imagination
hangs in the gallery of my mind"
I like the single sentences punctuating and glowing with power...lovely, Kate. I'm in and out so infrequently I've missed so much...glad I caught this one! R
Poignant, evocative.
Beautiful, sweetly sad...
Picture-perfect portrayal of loss and hanging on. I hope this is just an observation or a memory of a time, and not something you're going through now.
Blinddream: I'll take a thumbs up anytime! Thank you!

Fay: That makes me smile ... I quite like them too! Thank you.

A Persistent Muse: I am very touched that you came by to read mine! Thank you.

A sweet picture it is..and you quite the artist!
JD: I'm so sorry I missed your comment here ... but I've found it now. : ) I've never considered myself an artist ... I took art class for a while when I was young but I was never very good! Painting pictures with words I am hoping proves a little more successful!
I feel this one deeply! Yes, "Untitled" fits to a T.
pastvoices: I am so sorry to not have seen your comment here sooner. I've kept pondering over a title for this but can never come up with one. It seems that it is destined to remain untitled. It also seems my friends here agree that it should.
