Double Funeral for Ted Kennedy & Michael Jackson

Rate: 10 Flag

In a desperate effort not to upstage or overshadow each other, the families of Michael Jackson and Ted Kennedy have tentatively agreed to combine forces for a gala double funeral.

"We refuse to allow this bloated, has-been, politician to take the limelight away from one of the great media events of the 23rd century - the funeral for my son, the King of Pop, Michael Jackson," bellowed Joe Jackson, Michael's father.

Al Sharpton, a remora to the Jackson family had this to say, "The Pay-Per-View for Michael's funeral is going to be huge - Showtime and HBO are involved in a bidding war, and Don King is in charge of promotion.  Senator Kennedy's death could not have come at a worse time.  Combining the funerals is the best way to ensure maximum viewer exposure.

Kennedy family spokesperson, Preston Peabody, has tried to keep all details of the double funeral a secret.  Rumors have been swirling that the Kennedys have expressed strong objections to the choice of singer, Bobby Brown, to deliver the eulogy for Senator Kennedy.

Tito Jackson, Michael's brother and original member of The Jackson 5, is concerned that some other major historical figure dies before Michael is finally laid to rest.

"What if that old fool, President Jimmy Carter, decides to kick the bucket tomorrow.  Then we have to upgrade to a triple funeral.  I'll be damned if I'm going to let some cracker peanut farmer from Georgia upstage my brother."

Don King is optimistic that the unique double funeral will go down in history as the highest subscribed Pay-Per-View ever.

"Only in America can a famous black man and a wealthy white man be buried right on top of each other.  Who is going to be on top?  You will have to tune in to find out.  Call your cable operator today.  For only $99.99 you can be a part of the Jackson/Kennedy Funeral Extravaganza.

"Only in America!.."

____ it if you can't take a joke.
You are one CRAZY S.O.B.
Will Don King be splitting the take with the Jackson and Kennedy clans or is he just getting a flat fee?
Rest assured that Don King will get more than his fair share. He always does.

"Al Sharpton, a remora to the Jackson family..." never a truer word was spoken.
Iamsurly - Referring to the Rev. Al as a "remora" is the most polite way that I can describe him.

Closureisamyth - I take that as a compliment and I have the medical records to prove it.

You mean this isn't true? Too funny Willie. Way too funny.
GJI Penguin - You and "Ablonde" seem to have a large difference of opinion over the merits of this post.
oh no you di-nt.

you are evil littlewilly!
Nofrillsmonkey - There are many sides to littlewillie, and I have embraced all of them, including my "dark side".
Sad but true in some quarters, I would imagine.
Gwool - Closer to truth than fiction in my opinion.
You are just too much! Wicked!
Just Pamela - Sometimes the boat needs to be rocked - HARD.
I just called the cable operator and the price has gone up! WTF? Are they going to make me sing "ebony and ivory" at the door?
mypsyche - I like the "Ebony and Ivory" motiff from a home decorator's point of view.
This made me chuckle. And I'm in total mourning for my Senator. This is light hearted, irreverent humor, which is always appropriate.
aim - some people are offended by irreverent humor. I'm glad that you are not one of those people.
Some people want to be offended.
Many people try for this kind of humor, but veer off into MEAN.
So big props to you for the joyful irreverence.
I get more chuckles every time I read it!
Littlewillie, you make me laugh out loud - honest to god. if you could bottle you, you'd be either a rich man. or living in a bottle.
aim - I'm all about the "open" in Open Salon. As for salons, I don't frequent them - I'm a barbershop kind of guy.

nofrillsmonkey - I was living in a bottle until I got evicted by Barbara Eden.
Dark Side of the Moonwalk Featuring the Dead Kennedys. Hosted by Carrot Top. Put Teddy on the bottom, he'd mash poor little Michael.
Jeff Howe - The Dead Kennedys were a great band. "Too drunk To Fuck" is a classic that should have been a #1 hit if anyone in the radio business had more than half a brain.
Have you already forgotten Farrah? For shame.
Steve Blevins - Farrah was a bonafide media sensation, but compared to The King Of Pop and the latest Dead Kennedy, she's strictly small potatoes.
Joe Jackson is a verry evrry sick disterbed indivisual!! we lost a great man in teddy kennedy
Definitely the wackiest post I've read all week. Kudos for originality and wicked (in a good way) humor. Love this kind of stuff, LW.

Rated.
John Blumenthal - Thank you for the positive feedback. I knew I would take some grief for this post, but I also knew that there were enough people out there (like you) who would "get the joke."
I sometimes cross "the line" with my humor, but if I start censoring myself to appease others, then I can't create my unique brand of comedy.
This anecdote was of great importance. I felt so strongly about it that I printed it 1138 times and wall papered my sons room with it. Thank you slick wille, thank you!!
147qb - I wouldn't use anecdotes as wallpaper in a kid's room. My anecdotes contain high amounts of mercury, lead, and transfats.
rated. (But I miss your old avatar - that fro and that expression gave me joy!)
noah tall - thanks for the rating and noticing the change of avatar.
